Split Singing Sections - an atmosphere thread (sorry.)

I don't have a problem with N1 growing into a big contributor to matchday atmosphere, I welcome it - but I cannot see the club encouraging a large standing/singing section in N1 next to the kids in P1/P2 or moving the family stand to the kop. It's just a few rows at the top right now but if it got much bigger I could see a few run-ins with stewards developing

There's absolutely no point in L1 moving to N1, absolutely none at all, I honestly think L1/N1 if enough joined could almost be a joint singing section.

Well it's clearly not worked well how it currently is for how ever many years...

I'm on row T. I'm guessing your up near the top?

I'm at KK standing next to the barrier. N1 is actually better than it looks. Every chant L1 sing we join in with. Top 5 rows are standing. Then now and again we sing our own chants. Which are very hard to catch on because L1 don't seem to join in with us.

Sorry if this is stupid but just wanted to know what other people on here have got a season ticket in N1 or are getting one and where you sit/stand? Top 5 rows are standing and its getting better each game. Doesn't get the credit it deserves as we 90% of the time join in with L1. But we are getting together to get some new chants going up there. So yeah who else sits up there? Plus does any of the other parts of the ground notice us? See Derby did last game. lol

It's definitely not 'family only' then?

I think there are all kinds of variables to why people sing or sit or stand or boo or eat pies etc

At the end of the day if people wanted to sing and sit in L1 I'm sure they will do. Not my cup of tea as when I've been before there are a large number of kids literally got their fists in front of your face more per occupied by the away fans by swearing at them than watching the game. Don't get me wrong I know people that sit there that are the complete opposite who like a sing and watch our club.

I always walk past the away end on the way home and see all sorts of leicester fans giving it big licks to the away fans who weigh about 8 stone wet ...and would get completely cleaned up if it wasn't for the coppers but I'm sure they'll grow up. It just makes us normal fans look like complete ****** to any visiting supporters.

I think the OP was a bit OTT and sensitive about the whole thing, it isn't going to really change because of the laws in this country so we aren't going to turn into German or Polish support overnight.

Everyone is entitled to their own way to support the club and people have the attitude on here that its either their way or the highway. Which will ultimately piss people off who have had season tickets for triple the length of time than some of the window kickers on here.

When you book tickets.buy a season ticket on the OS, it's stated that there needs to be one under 18 ticket as part of the purchase. Whether they actually check up, I don't know...

Right then here goes. Just signed up to the forum to give you a bit of insight.

I've had my season ticket for years, Leicester born and bred, been going to games since I was a kid. I go to every home game with a group of my mates (all between 25-35). We go to as many away days as possible, usually about five a season.

We all have our season tickets in the kop, we all stand at the back, and we all sing. We have been trying to get the atmosphere going for years now and we are just starting to see some results. But why don't we sit in L1 you ask? Because there are no tickets available, you could get close but you are paying through the nose, and you will be standing in amongst fans who sitting. There is a tiny area of standing fans. The rest don't sing.

This year we tried to move to the north stand and were blocked by the club. I was told that they were aware of people's preference for a new singing section in the family stand and were not going to allow it. We needed to be adults and children to get in.

I wish that we had a unified singing section at home. We are awsome away and I would love us to replicate that atmosphere. I'm afraid I can't see it happening though. The L1 lot are too busy sticking their fingers up at the away fans and old bill to move into the kop, and no one else can move to L1.

Anyone who reads this thread (or starts yet another one) needs to realise that the only way for us to get louder is for people to come and stand at the back of the kop and sing. It is the only place that youl get a seat.

And as for L1... We never here em anyway

Ah yes, fair play to you near to us. I think I came and stood in front of you a couple of games ago with a couple of young lads I know. Keep it up, definately helps get the Kop going.

Cheers mate. This topic will continue for years until people wake up and realise the club won't help us generate the atmosphere, weve got to do it ourselves. All this talk of joining L1 or making a new section is pointless. We've been dealt a hand by the club, we've got to make somthing of it ourselves.

Totally agree, if you can build the numbers to a reasonable amount, it will just snowball. It's very difficult to 'force it' and it alerts the negative powers at the club anyway. Be persistant and slowly it will grow and just may be one day the Kop will be a Kop once more and I can then rest my voice and let you young uns do all the work.

Dynamagoon, you mention a unified singing section but there not being anywhere to do it, I doubt the 700-800 odd people in L,K and J3 who stand up could get tickets far up enough the kop to stand up. That's why when the Fosse boys started, they had to go somewhere completely new where people don't usually sit. I think we're stuck in a bit of a catch 22.

They could get tickets in G and H though, those sections always seem pretty empty and apart from wanting to be near the away fans? its the same view.

Haha, ain't gettin any younger myself, need the youths to get up to the back and sing with us

Come join us at the back on N1. You do NOT need a child. Two singing sections either side of the away fans is better. We could just pretend its called the KOP if it makes people happy. Its just a name of a stand
