The Year Of The Fox Posted 9 December 2012 Author Posted 9 December 2012 Horrible to see this come down. thanks. more poctures further down the facebook wall too if you look
jonthefox Posted 9 December 2012 Posted 9 December 2012 That makes me so sad. I f only we could have built on the north and east sides, we would still be there now.
Spudulike Posted 9 December 2012 Posted 9 December 2012 Looks really small in that Picture. Always thought it was massive as a kid. Grew up on that terrace and all the scary times.
StanSP Posted 9 December 2012 Posted 9 December 2012 These photos are heartbreakingly sad. So many great memories at that place.
Craig Posted 9 December 2012 Posted 9 December 2012 I'll never forget the night we played Forest on Sky in our first season at the then Walkers. Standing outside before the match watching them bulldoze the double decker. Heartbreaking.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 9 December 2012 Author Posted 9 December 2012 Getting rather nostalgic about a ground i didn't go to more than perhaps 20times. Looking at google images the stadium juat looks a fortress. A real proper ground. You know it couldn't have been half bad when you eead fans of other teams complementing it
Craig Posted 9 December 2012 Posted 9 December 2012 Never heard an opposing fan who'd been there say a bad word about the place. Everyone loved Filbo.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 9 December 2012 Posted 9 December 2012 Just had a moment of quiet sad reflection, So many many happy years....RIP Filbo!

Fox92 Posted 9 December 2012 Posted 9 December 2012 Glad to say I went to Filbert Street a few times, but not old enough to remember it completely, just in parts. I do prefer the older grounds with more character though. Sad to see any legendary football ground getting knocked down, especially our own.
Ozwin Posted 9 December 2012 Posted 9 December 2012 Did they not ask the fans what they wanted then? They just knocked it down and built a new one just like that? Proper gut wrenching, I think Filbert Street helped breed a whole new generation of City fans (myself included) and to think that the youngsters of today have to put up with the KP makes me a bit sad actually.
