baronfox Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 If our chances had gone in, people would have been raving about that first half performance. I know it's an IF but i was really impressed with us in the first half. Although i was a little suprised by the subs, Lingaard didn't play badly, he obviously doesn't rate Futacs. I'm with you with the first half hour performance ! We looked great but Pearson needs to manage the team so that they perform for 90 minutes! If we want to get promoted then its his job to ensure the team adapts to situations and I feel let down by his decisions in the second half. Yes, we need luck but we need a manager to make the luck happen !!!
5waller5 Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Whatever happens, we won't get or fail to get promotion, until May anyhow. Short terminism and deterministic thinking is floating around right now. "We won't get playoffs at this rate" "12 points out of 10 games...close to relegation form" Tell me, when we won 6 out of 7 did we all think we were going to win the league? No. Because it's a season of 46 games. You'll have good, bad and ugly runs. All we can look at is where we are and where we've been under Pearson. I.e Currently 5th, Top of the League, Good runs and good performances. Unlike Sven's leicester, Pearson's leicester is capable of putting together a run and playing nice football. Yes we're in a blip. But we've demonstrated we can do better, I don't see why a lot of people are determined that it's all down hill from here onwards. Well yes i did actually ..... why would we suddenly go from Champion's form to relegation form overnight??? Surely noone could have foresaw that???? And when you gradually get better, move up the table and take first why wouldn't you expect it to continue???
baronfox Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 I'm sorry I thought this was a forum, were everybody had different views, I didn't realise that you are an idiot if you don't have the same opinion as father ted, maybe some people on here should keep there opinions to themselves., I find it slightly worrying that we get told we are idiots for wanting the best for our team and the person calling us idiots is posting threads for man of the match awards !!! It's laughable ! Man of the match!!! What happened to a TEAM sport. Can't stand MOTM , pointless individual praise in a team sport. I want to get promoted and that's my concern at the minute , sorry if that makes me an idiot
Far Post Gerry Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Rome wasn't built in a day. Have some patience.

Yes, we need luck but we need a manager to make the luck happen !!! First half, goal apart we looked pretty good going forward, sure there was some hoof but quite a lot of good stuff too, several good saves, woodwork hit at least three times. Second half we were pressed and harried and Cardiff seemed quite happy just to break up the flow of the game, we needed inspiration and a change in what we were doing but NFP only made like for like substitutes that only made us less effective. Disappointing really, we really should have seen them off, they were not that good.......
Mark_w Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 It's ok to call me an idiot, I don't mind, but I don't think Pearson is making the right decisions during games. I respect your view , but I don't agree. I also don't think your an idiot Fine, but I still think you are. He has maybe made one or two mistakes with substitutions and line-ups, but all managers make mistakes like that, he has if you ask me got a lot more right than he has wrong. You'd also be throwing away a scout like Steve Walsh who is bringing in to the club some really talented young players who we could be watching progress at this club for years. We've got something special at the moment, we don't need to go out and spend a shit load more on a new team and manager, because all we have to do is be patient, we'll certainly be challenging for a play-off spot this year, and when Knockaert, Marshall, Drinkwater, King, Vardy, Waghorn, Schlupp, De Laet have another year of Championship football playing together, with a few more solid additions, we will be unstopable. If we're patient now we'll be rewarded, because a lot of the players he's brought in will be Premier League players in five years time maximum and we don't have to sell them.
RyanLCFC18 Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Yes you are correct about Sven spending money...why hasn't Pearson used this squad Sven bought?? Danns is a good player, Nugents done well! What happened to Gelson Fernandes?? Oh, he only went to play for Udinese helped then qualify for the champions league finishing 4th in Serie A!!! But no! Drinkwater and Matty James are far better !!! Why not try persuade good talent to stay !! Why are fans forgetting things like this! because he wants players that want to play an will give their all to the club which is what fans should want, not players that are here just for the pay i.e Mills was Beckford Fernandes Johnson. as i said we dont see the players each day so who knows the reason for each player leaving... i liked Bamba but wasnt sad to see him go as i have faith in Pearson an thinkWhitbread is becoming a good replacement. and how are pearsons signings not good talent? Vardy gives everythin hes got every game an its only time til it pays off, Whitbread, Morgan!!, Drinkwater, De laet, knocky, marshall.... all good players now who will only get better.i bet when we were top you couldnt praise pearson enough.. Back the team

fleckneymike Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Nigel was hired to get us promoted last season. Promotion this season was the owners worst case scenario. I don't particularly care about promotion I'm more interested in entertaining football, sadly for Nigel the owners are very interested in promotion. Very interested indeed.
baronfox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Fine, but I still think you are. Do you seriously think we have premier league standard players? Wow! I still don't think your an idiot though! Not sure if you've watched much premiership thus year but this leicester team would probably be relegated by now! The only player which a premier league club would like to sign would be knockaert , apart from him I don't think we have players of that class. However we do have the players to go up but I feel Pearson isn't the man to go that
Leicesterpool Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Come Boxing Day we'll beat Hull and people will be saying "Nigel's the best manager we've ever had" too many fickle fans at this club!
baronfox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 because he wants players that want to play an will give their all to the club which is what fans should want, not players that are here just for the pay i.e Mills was Beckford Fernandes Johnson. as i said we dont see the players each day so who knows the reason for each player leaving... i liked Bamba but wasnt sad to see him go as i have faith in Pearson an thinkWhitbread is becoming a good replacement. and how are pearsons signings not good talent? Back the team Players which 'give their all' are not what being a top player is about. Giving their all should be a given to every professional player. I'm fed up with this praise for effort. What happened to praising good technical talent eg. Knockaert(that's about it) I feel sorry for knockaert ! We are not encouraging him to enjoy it and improve his strengths ! Instead he is told to track back and help deLaet , then people moan because he is tired!

Not sure if you've watched much premiership thus year but this leicester team would probably be relegated by now! No, No, No. You're not reading what I'm saying. I'm suggesting that right now we have a good Championship side. But it's a very young side, and if we stick with Pearson and don't try to dismantle it then in 2 to 3 years it's going to be a pretty solid Premier League side. Hence the suggestion that we need to be patient and give Pearson time. I'm sure he knows he's under pressure to succeed in the short term, but he's still looking at what is in the best interest of the club in the long term, which is something I don't think Sven did even though I thought he went too early. Losing Pearson would be a big mistake.
baronfox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 No, No, No. You're not reading what I'm saying. I'm suggesting that right now we have a good Championship side. I feel your prediction of these young players coming through is a nice thought but in reality will NOT happen. It really is a shame leics sacked Sven because he would have attracted and persuaded the quality to come to leicester. Now please name me a player that's been successful in the championship and is now a top class prem player !
Mark_w Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Now please name me a player that's been successful in the championship and is now a top class prem player ! Tom Cleverley. Want another? (Edit: I said we'd be a pretty solid Prem side, not a top class one)
baronfox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Tom Cleverley. Want another? (Edit: I said we'd be a pretty solid Prem side, not a top class one) Right...ok. Cleverley. He has still got a lot to prove ( just my opinion) Anymore please ??
Mark_w Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Right...ok. Cleverley. He has still got a lot to prove ( just my opinion) Anymore please ?? Kyle Walker.
baronfox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Kyle Walker. Your missing the point!! These are all LOAN players!!! Ha ha. You think drinkwater and de laet can reach their level of quality ??
Mark_w Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
fleckneymike Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Victor Moses Scott Sinclair Matt Jarvis (this could go on and on) I would however like to predict that neither of Drinkwater or James will get remotely close to those players in terms of ability.
Mark_w Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 You think drinkwater and de laet can reach their level of quality ?? No but you just wanted examples of player who've gone from the Championship to the Premier League. I think Drinkwater and De Laet can be solid Premier League players for a bottom half side like we would be.

I think Drinkwater and De Laet can be solid Premier League players for a bottom half side like we would be. Drinkwater against Yaya Toure, sorry your comment just made me think.
baronfox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Theo Walcott -please tell me how many games he played for Southampton I really can't remember Bale ever playing in the championship !!!! Ha ha ( he might have played a few games but made his reputation in prem) And oxlade chamberlain was never named in a championship 'team of the year' I feel you point is flawed ! Did you know that Buffon and Del Piero played in Serie B!!! There famous for it!!
