Brenfox Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Never been a headset user but I got some Turtle Beach Px5 for Xmas & they are amazing. They really help to draw you into the action. Anyone else got any or similar?
Danizen Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 I'd be interested in these. Are they surround sound? If so, what are they like?
Brenfox Posted 28 December 2012 Author Posted 28 December 2012 It says they are 7.1 on the box & completely wireless. Fantastic on fps but not played anything else with them yet. Very expensive though.
BoneDog Posted 30 December 2012 Posted 30 December 2012 I got some cheapish ones for Crimbo. Asked for the wired ones, not a big fan of wireless. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gioteck-Wired-Multi-Format-Headset/dp/B005LN5U42/ I've not tried them yet but will prob give them a blast later today. I've been using some very cheap ones for playing Modern Warfare in the past, and was happy with them, so I know these'll be more impressive. Might even have a go on Dead Space using these soon. Had it for a year but not played it yet.
stix Posted 30 December 2012 Posted 30 December 2012 Might even have a go on Dead Space using these soon. Had it for a year but not played it yet. It will scare the living shit out of you.
BoneDog Posted 30 December 2012 Posted 30 December 2012 I'll have a blast this week then. Since I got a PS3 a year ago I've only played MW1, Red Dead and Dead Island. Will prob try a few more games now if the headphones improve the atmos a bit.
foz.foz Posted 30 December 2012 Posted 30 December 2012 Worth getting if your into your Battlefield/COD games. You can hear the fcukers walking up behind you and you know where the heli's are in the sky when they're not in view. Make sure you get 5.1 surround minimum. I use Turtle Beach X11's for the X-Box
Rusko187 Posted 30 December 2012 Posted 30 December 2012 I got the turtle beach MW3 Foxtrot headset off ebay for like £15 and it's mint, use it for PC too.... helps loads on games like Battlefield, COD and Arma 2.
Filberts Treat Posted 31 December 2012 Posted 31 December 2012 Ive got some turtle beach x41's. Wire from controller to headset does my head in though. Do the new ones need the same wire for u to be able to chat?(Xbox)
The People's Hero Posted 31 December 2012 Posted 31 December 2012 I want some of these partly because my baby is in bed before 8 so I need to get some headphones for playing anyway. If I was watching a bluray on my PS3, would the headphones work for that also? I would want wireless though - any recommendations?

I was going to go wireless but a mate told me his batteries were forever dying. I went for wired in the end although it can sometimes get messi. just remember 5:1 surround or above
Charl91 Posted 31 December 2012 Posted 31 December 2012 Have turtle beaches. Only problem is when I'm using them it means I can't really use the sound from my gaming chair! First world problems
anotherharboroughfox Posted 31 December 2012 Posted 31 December 2012 If I was watching a bluray on my PS3, would the headphones work for that also? Aslong as you have your audio setting to go to the headset then yes!
BoneDog Posted 1 January 2013 Posted 1 January 2013 Tried mine yesterday on Modern Warfare 1. It felt like a brand new game, sounded totally different. Way better, and mine are only £25 ones. The surround sound more expensive types would be unbelievable, but these are good enough for me for now! If I was watching a bluray on my PS3, would the headphones work for that also? Aslong as you have your audio setting to go to the headset then yes! I tried mine yesterday on ITVPlayer on the PS3 just to test the tv/movie sound. Picked 'That Dog Can Dance' to test them on as I knew it'd have some music. Flippin awesome. Can hear bass like not heard for years. And other sounds are so clear.
Adster Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 I have the Turtle Beaches PX21 and they're absolutely monsterous. Great if you like playing games such as Call of Duty. You can hear people halfway across the map, great for seeking opposition players movements out and when they're close to you. The sound quality is outstanding, as well as the crispness of the microphone. I paid £75, they may be cheaper now but even they aren't, I'd highly, highly recommend them.

BoneDog Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 Sets? For your head? Which ones have you got? Gioteck EX-05 wired ones, £25 on Amazon. Defo not as good as what others are using, but they are 10 times better than what I'm used to. Well worth the money. http://www.amazon.co.../dp/B005LN5U42/ The same ones with wireless are about £40 odd but I've heard the wireless bit can go wrong so got the wired. On a side note, I bought the dl version of San Andreas from the PS3 store the other day. The radio stations sound flippin awesome! Even the tunes I never used to like sound good now.

Ian W LCFC Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I got my turtle beaches delivered 3 days ago, they are fantastic, I play so much better with them! They were only 45 quid. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00886XQHM/ref=asc_df_B00886XQHM11356605?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B00886XQHM

Brenfox Posted 20 January 2013 Author Posted 20 January 2013 So pissed now. My estranged wife has decided to send them back so all the bugging up of my new headphones is gone. Got to save up now to buy a pair myself
z-layrex Posted 20 January 2013 Posted 20 January 2013 I use Planetronic 780's. Fantastic value for money and brilliant sound once you install the drivers. Couldnt recommend them enough. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0079G2Y52
