Guest foxestalkisfullofidiots Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 Hull's 94th minute equalizer cost me £168 today on my accumulator and its not the first time I've just missed out this season, Arsenal coming back from 4-0 down at Reading earlier this season cost me £569 and that was from a £1 bet, I also had Leicester to beat Ipswich 5-0 which was 50/1 so I was gutted when Fuctus scored the 6th with about 8 minutes to go or whatever it was, all this got me thinking "wonder what the biggest payout someone has just missed out on?" I know a guy at work just missed out on £17000 because Cardiff lost at home to Peterboro!
Tom17LCFC Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 Crawley not scoring let me down for £1,100.59 the other week from a 50p bet, devo'd.
Jimothy Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 I don't like to think or talk about it much because it depresses me, but I missed out on £27000 because West Ham beat Fulham a few years back. Wasn't a last minute goal though, just one result.
Webbo Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 Coulda, woulda, shoulda it's the gambler's motto. You don't see many poor bookies.
Bert Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 Missed out on a share of £6m tonight on the lottery. Only two numbers away.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 about 6 or 7 years ago i missed out on about 13 grand. Had a 12 match accumulator which the 11 3pm kick offs on a Saturday were all won which meant me going down to the pub for a midweek game Ipswich V Leicester on sky i think it was. Anyway, Kuqi run us ragged for the 90 minutes and we lost 2-1 and i left the pub in tears!
Soar Fox Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Missed out on a share of £6m tonight on the lottery. Only two numbers away. How much is it for 4 numbers Bert?
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Not really relevant to the thread but the names "Fuctus" really got me smiling to myself
acooling08 Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 How much is it for 4 numbers Bert? About £60 usually so not bad.
Soar Fox Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 About £60 usually so not bad. Thought it would have been more than that to be honest. Still £60 isn't to bad.
SystonFox Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 £6,000,000 would've been a touch better though. To be fair I was only 5 numbers away today on the lotto so I'm getting there!
The People's Hero Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 You can probably chase the big accumulator all your life. Problem is your one selection that lets you down is a losing bet and a loser is a loser. Also without that selection the odds would not have been as good. I could place a one pound bet on myself to be England's goalkeeper at the next World Cup and then hugely unluckily just miss out on 5million pounds. That's just one stupid selection.
BoneDog Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Had 50p on a 200 horse accumulator for the week. 19 mill to one. First two came in but third lost. The other 197 are now irrelevant. Hope at least one of them loses now else I'll be livid.
Lamby Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I was 1min away from winning £400+ a few years ago. Only foe Walters to score an equaliser for Ipswich against Newcastle, walked out the pub almost crying then saw a ****ing Ipswich fan (while I was in Exeter), I could of killed him
Jimothy Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I was 1min away from winning £400+ a few years ago. Only foe Walters to score an equaliser for Ipswich against Newcastle, walked out the pub almost crying then saw a ****ing Ipswich fan (while I was in Exeter), I could of killed him And since then you've being trying to win that £400 off one huge bet, but have in reality probably spent twice that one losing every week.
DB11 Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 About £60 usually so not bad. The amount varies depending on how much the jackpot is. The only definite set amount is 3 numbers = £10 the rest will vary. It tends to be more on a Saturday as more people play Saturdays than Wednesdays and so the jackpot is higer.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Southend drawing 2-2 with Barnet this season cost my dad something ridiculous like £5000. Barnet were without a win at the time. He had £5 on about 15 home wins.
foxfanazer Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Fleetwood not scoring against Northampton cost me £438.26
Father Ted Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Had 50p on 12 team sections list for something like £337... All came in, waiting on Millwall to be confirmed as a full time at 3-2, then... Cardiff equalised last minute, couldnt believe it. Also had a 50p bet on four draws to win just over £70, again all came in, Middlesbrough Cov was 1-1 then Tarmo Kink scored a scrawny 93rd winner for Boro... Ive lost a lot more bets from last minute goals than Ive won!
