JT is a lucky boy but no doubt him and Spieth will raise their games in Rome and win points.

Glover must feel a bit pissed off and I thought Bradley was trending and he loves the RC

Looking at the US team overall, I don't think the Europeans will feel intimidated.

JT very lucky indeed, looking at comments from Americans, quite a few are saying Bradley should’ve been picked over him.

The rest of their team I’m not surprised by. Couldn’t leave Koepka out after his major win, Fowler has been in excellent form and Burns probably got in because he won the Match Play.

As I said yesterday, I’m quietly confident that Europe could come out on top, form & ranking wise, we look in a better place than last time.

Reading plenty of comments over here that it's 'jobs for the boys' and Zach has picked his mates.

Also shades of Zinger's old 'pod' system with 3 groups of 4 buddies playing together. In this case...

Spieth, Thomas, Fowler, Homa.
Cantlay, Schauffele, Morikawa, Harman.
Scheffler, Burns, Clark, Koepka.

He's a very trustworthy man. I don't know why anyone is questioning this?

@Izzy you're eligible for the seniors now, can you enter next year, just to confirm what a great athlete he is? lol

I don’t think there was ever a scenario where JT wasn’t going personally. Despite his form, knowing what he can do is sometimes enough in the RC.

Woefully out of form.

I like the guy, really came across well in the Netflix doc, but he's been so bad this year.

I might be completely wrong, these are tough events to predict, but I reckon it'll be so tight this year.

Maybe USA retaining with a tie.

Our top players are arguably better then theirs, but to use a cricket term, the USA have a longer tail.

Hovland, Rahm, McIlroy, Fleetwood, Fitzpatrick are as strong as anyone, but it kind of tails off towards the end. On paper anyway.

Rooting for Europe, obviously, but I'll enjoy it all. I especially like watching Homa and Morikawa from Team USA.

Homa has to win a major in the next year or 2, surely? That swing is so damn good.

I think I am slightly biased, JT is my favourite player, but at the same time having the luxury of a 2 time major winner as a wildcard is probably fairly tempting too I imagine.

I agree and looking at that line up on paper there are going to be some tight pairings. Hovland is in the form of his life and it looks like he’s finally got a grip of his short game. Rahm is a beast, Rory is made for this sort of stuff. It’ll be fascinating as always.

Going to be fun this afternoon playing Shirley GC - after playing about 10 virtual rounds at a range and a couple of nine holes. Problem is my boss is club champion three years on the spin and plays off 1. The other person is a client. So it could be interesting.

And I’m working right next to it today too 😂

Blokes an absolute beast.

Saw a stat earlier stating that if he does get picked, he’ll be the first player in Ryder Cup history to get picked without having ever played a Major Championship.

Some rise.

Yeah, I saw that too. Apparently Luke Donald played a round with him recently and said he was the best rookie he's seen since Rory appeared on the scene.

Amazing really that he only turned pro a couple of months ago but his amateur record is outstanding.

I don't think any of the US team would fancy teeing it up against him.

A glowing reference like that makes his chances of getting picked even more likely.

From what I’ve seen of him on the PGA Tour, you quickly get the sense that he’s a potential beast in the making.

I hope Donald goes bold tomorrow and goes with youth, Aberg & Nicolai Hojgaard would be refreshing.

G'won Luke

Feel a bit sorry for Meronk especially having won recently at Marco Simone, but loving the Nicolai and Aberg picks.

Really like the look of Team Europe this year, a great blend of youth and experience.

Still fancy the US just, but this could be another classic.

BRING IT ON.

Whilst Meronk can definitely be justified in feeling a bit hard done by here, finishes of T13, T62, T23, T78, and T15 in his last 5 starts show he hasn't exactly been banging the door down for a pick. If you're outside looking in you're going to need more than that to make it so the captain has to pick you. Hopefully, he keeps improving and playing well as I think he'll be a reasonable bet for the next team in 2 years.

Lowry can count himself lucky, he's been pretty honking this year, but it would have been brave from Donald to pick Meronk over him, especially with him also picking two very young rookies in Aberg and Hojgaard.

I like the look of this team, as always, on paper the U.S. looks stronger, but not too many of them have been playing well of late and their best player can't hole a putt. This team was always going to be an interesting one, regardless of LIV it was always going to look a lot different from the previous teams with Poulter, Westwood, Casey etc out of the mix, there's a good chance this is Rose's last too.

Playing the Brabazon tomorrow with my Dad, uncle and cousin.
After all this recent hot weather it looks like we’re going to get absolutely drenched
