Playing the Brabazon tomorrow with my Dad, uncle and cousin.
After all this recent hot weather it looks like we’re going to get absolutely drenched

How did you get on? I drove by it yesterday and remarked to my apprentice how I’d prefer to over the wall there playing

Just drove past it again today and it’s absolutely battering it down- would be a long slog today

Luckily we got away with the weather in the end but fvck me, what a difficult golf course the Brabazon is. Up there with Celtic Manor as the toughest track I've ever played.

I'd walked it twice at the '89 and '02 Ryder Cups but playing it was awesome. The design is so clever and I must have visited at least a dozen bunkers.

It plays so long because the fairways are lush and they cut the grass back to the tee so there's no run - it's ALL carry. And there's so many ditches/brooks/ponds right in front of the green to catch you out.

The Marshalls kept driving by checking in and saying "forget your score, just enjoy the course" and they were right. Sadly the 10th was into a 20mph wind and a 260 yard to the green so there was no point me going for it - I know my limits :(

Hit a good drive down 18 but wasn't brave enough to cut the corner and left 215 to the green. Absolutely creamed a 3 wood but it hit the bank at the front and rolled back into the lake. Gutted.

Would highly recommend playing the Brabazon but it took 5.5. hours and I'd use a definitely buggy next time. The starter said there were over 600 people playing across the three courses yesterday so they must be absolutely raking it in.

Yeah, I’ve played it twice myself. The first was NYD 2021. Shotgun start. I think we started on something like the 14th hole. By the time we got round to the Par 3 which must be something like the 6th hole, the green still hadn’t thawed. We both hit the green and our balls cannoned off 😂😂😂

The second time was 2nd Jan this year. We stupidly decided to play off the Blues, and because nothing was running on, it became a very long day indeed!

Started that round on the 16th

Hit a great tee shot that caught a lone tree down the left. Managed a decent 5 wood from there finishing 50 yards shy of the green. Then I thinned a SW across that green very nearly running into the water that divides the 16th green to the 10th fairway. Think I double bogeyed that hole, shot a 9 on the 17th and I wanted to quit the round from that moment on

US not giving Europe an inch in the Solheim cup.

Holing the big putts when they matter and could be heading into the singles with a decent lead unless Europe have a strong session this afternoon.

Great drama, shite golf course though.

Fantastic comeback by the Europeans to make it 8-8 going into the singles after losing the first session 0-4

All set up for another classic final day tomorrow hopefully.

Bit Mickey Mouse ain't it? They seem to have built the golf course on the side of a small mountain. On a lot of the holes the ball ends up funneling into the same position because of the slopes - regardless of where you hit it. Bit like crazy golf.

Exactly. It's proper mountain goat golf and from a spectators perspective, it's a poor layout. There's been very little praise for the course from either team which says something.

P.S. Lexi Thompson is the ultimate bitch. She's got the chipping yips and a reporter had the nerve to ask her about it and she had a right paddy. Hope she gets her arse kicked in the last singles.

Feels like this is gonna go down to the wire.

US up in 5, Europe up in 6, A/S in 1

Great stuff.

Europe in danger of throwing this away now. Purely down to not handling the pressure. What a fvck up from such a strong position. Need a miracle now.

We were up in 6 matches about 45 mins ago. FFS.

Thrown it away tbh. Too many missed short putts. The pressure has got to them big time. Only Hedwall showing any bollox really.

Take a bow Caroline Hedwall :appl:

If Stark and Ciganda had hold on we might still scrape a draw and retain.

Squeaky bum time.

All down to Ciganda v Korda really. Stark is up and needs to win regardless of anything else, and Pedersen isn't realistically winning.

Ciganda, at home, in front of the King of Spain. It is written.

Lexi just lost a couple of holes on the spin but should still win from here. Would PMSL if the smacked arse bitch throws it away though.
