Guest Bilo Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 I'd love to know what Daggers did to Chandler to upset him so.
Webbo Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 who is chandler? Some people say it's Moosey's original account., I don't see it myself but he doesn't deny it. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/user/412-chandler/
I am Rod Hull Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Hey work are paying for the Australia trip! Happy to put a few quid in though. If you put in 10p for each time that you have mentioned being in Australia this week it`d keep this site going for 6 months EDIT: Made a paypal account - My £5 is winging its way through cyberspace as we speak.
Daggers Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 I'd love to know what Daggers did to Chandler to upset him so. Who cares?

flowwolf Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Don't have pay pal ( what ever that is ) is there any other way I can make a donation ? It is a great site and though I have been binned a few times I would miss it if it went under through lack of donations, so I've got a tenner to chuck in but don't know how ?

You don't need paypal to pay. If you click on the 'donate' button, it allows you the option to use your paypal account, but you can easily change to paying by card.

MooseBreath Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Some people say it's Moosey's original account., I don't see it myself but he doesn't deny it. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/user/412-chandler/ I'm sure bilo must be referring to something which happened to the real Chandler because if he's referring to me I've no idea what he is talking about.
Webbo Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 I'm sure bilo must be referring to something which happened to the real Chandler because if he's referring to me I've no idea what he is talking about. So lets get this straight. Are you or have you ever been Chandler or Radovan Caravan?
MooseBreath Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 So lets get this straight. Are you or have you ever been Chandler or Radovan Caravan? No. I've denied it before a couple of times, but tend to ignore it because it's not that important. I was DTC and posting about five times a year in the football forum when the real Chandler was around. Was he the guy who dropped his trousers in a school or was that someone else?
AoWW Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 No. I've denied it before a couple of times, but tend to ignore it because it's not that important. I was DTC and posting about five times a year in the football forum when the real Chandler was around. Was he the guy who dropped his trousers in a school or was that someone else? It wasn't quite that! But the person you're thinking of is Ultra.
BoneDog Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 I think I remember Radovans Caravan. Pretty sure he used to have some massive debates in General Sport.
James. Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Posted this awhie ago but never heard anything... still applies for me. I've donated previously but would rather have a bit more transparency before I do again. Obviously Mark can do what he wants and I'm a big fan of his but I think this would help, even if it's just the basics, i.e. total cost, total donations, surplus/deficit, what you would do with a surplus, etc. To encourage people to donate would it be a good idea for Mark to publish running costs, advertising revenue, historical donations and subsequently any surplus/deficit? I'm happy to donate again as I have done before but it'd be good to know some of the financials to judge how much is appropriate. Also if there was a surplus how it would be used. I understand this is private information and in particular Mark might want to keep the advertising revenue secret but a little more transparency with regards funding and donations might encourage people to give a little more.
Babylon Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Sure fire test to see whether it's Chadler... So Moose, what do you think of the Madeline McCann disappearance?

Why do you need a breakdown on costs?
flowwolf Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Just pay for what you get from it. Why do you need a breakdown on costs? No need for a break down as far as i'm concerned. I get a great deal from the site and if I chuck in a tenner now and again and it keeps going who cares ?
James. Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Just pay for what you get from it. Why do you need a breakdown on costs? Like anything I donate money to I'd like to know how my money gets used.
Babylon Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Like anything I donate money to I'd like to know how my money gets used. I don't see a registered charity number on the website? Don't look at it as the sort of donation you'd give to a charity, look at it as a donation towards a service you use and hopefully enjoy using. Even if Mark made a couple of quid out of it (I don't believe he does) he's put 9 years into the site and did so for quite some time without asking for anything. It's not a charity, it's his site and he could make it subscription only with the click of a button and force people to pay to use it. He wouldn't have to give you a set of his accounts then as you'd just be paying for a service. If you don't want to that's fine, but he really doesn't have to show anything.
Guest Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Like anything I donate money to I'd like to know how my money gets used. Fair enough. but I was thinking more along the lines of pay something towards the enjoyment/use you get from the site. like I pay Foxesplayer in return for listening to games and then later watching the video of the match. Here I'm happy to pay a few quid for reading fellow "fans" thoughts and spouting my own. It's more a thank you.
Carl the Llama Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Posted this awhie ago but never heard anything... still applies for me. The problem was, people would see the amount that others put in the kitty each month and it seemed to have the opposite effect to what you're suggesting. I guess they thought something along the lines of "oh, well these people are taking care of it so I won't bother putting my money in". It also led to a few elitist altercations between paying users and people whose names never appeared on the graphic. Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if any 'excess' donations simply stay in the kitty for the dry periods.
James. Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Fair enough chaps, I see where you're all coming from. My original point was that people may donate more if there was more transparency but from BF's example that's obviously not always the case. By the way I certainly wouldn't begrudge Mark any surplus, he's clearly earnt it.
