Rincewind Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Not done it yet myself. Link was in an email alert from Twitter. http://humanism.org....you-a-humanist/ We calculate you are 93% humanist. You are a humanist or very close to humanist thinking. Many people are, often without even knowing it! Nice to know. Thought I leaned in that direction. somewhat.
Guest Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Couldn't get the test to load. God must have blocked it.
BoneDog Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Humanist sounds very selfish. I'm a universeist. We're a far superior set! Taking the test after dinner.
Rincewind Posted 2 February 2013 Author Posted 2 February 2013 96% although somewhat loaded questions. [ I suppose it is a little but the answers are what I agree with anyway and I have regarded myself as a Humanist for a long time.
DB11 Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Those questions are terribly bias in the way the answers are worded.
Deucalion Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Those questions are terribly bias in the way the answers are worded. I was looking for a 'Are you a Christian' test because I thought it would be more biased. Based on a lot of Christians in the public eye, these tests are bound to exist somewhere but the one I found was actually quite reasonable and balanced. It does pre-suppose you are a Christian however and the questions are a challenge for anyone not well versed with the Bible. I also did not understand the answer I was given at the end! Try it if you like... http://www.beliefnet.com/Faiths/Christianity/Quiz/What-Kind-of-Christian-Are-You.aspx
Charl91 Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Yeah, it is horribly obvious which answers you are supposed to pick, and they lead you in that direction. 96%.
StanSP Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 96%. Highest score I've ever got on a test. I'm so proud.
Deucalion Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 96%. Highest score I've ever got on a test. I'm so proud. Well done !!
Monk Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 I had a humanist wedding so I'm guessing I don't need to do this test!
BoneDog Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 We calculate you are 70% humanist. Not bad, got to be worth a grade C. There are some interesting questions in that lot, but the answer options are a bit loaded. "Other people matter and should be treated with respect because.......". With some of the answer options they make it sound like the believers only treat other people with respect because God tells them to in a book! I answered 'because they are people with feelings like mine', and I thought exactly the same way when I was an atheist. 99% of people think like that, believers or not. I hope that nobody answered 'great place for a motorway', on the countryside view question!
Guest BlueBrett Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 We calculate you are 70% humanist. Not bad, got to be worth a grade C. Or a first class degree from most dummed down university courses. I got 86% but on several of the questions I was just picking the least worst as there was no response that even approximated how I feel.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 These kind of test are always skewed to fit the authors vision of what is and what isn't. Don't be a sheep!
Rincewind Posted 2 February 2013 Author Posted 2 February 2013 Most of the answers I would have given even if I didnt have a choice.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 Most of the answers I would have given even if I didnt have a choice. So because you had a choice gave some random answers just for the hell of it?
Rincewind Posted 2 February 2013 Author Posted 2 February 2013 So because you had a choice gave some random answers just for the hell of it? Sort of. Just found the choices did not present a problem. Well apart from a couple. With the afterlife one I would say your cells are and rotting corpse gives life to microbes and other lifeforms so in a way you do live on. But the others I believe it doesn't matter if you believe or not as long as you are a decent person and you don't need a God to tell you to be one.
BoneDog Posted 2 February 2013 Posted 2 February 2013 With the afterlife one I would say your cells are and rotting corpse gives life to microbes and other lifeforms so in a way you do live on. I much prefer the other way of thinking on this matter. I'm rather looking forward to making an appearance on some planet somewhere in a distant, or parallel galaxy. First words will be 'Well that was a trip and a flipping half. The place is going to pot man!! They're all flipping loons I tell thee. Titjobs, plastic lips and ridiculously expensive hairdo's are becoming desirable to vast amounts of people. Anyway, what do we do for entertainment around here? Got any cheesecake?'. I'm half kidding, but you never know. On a side note, from what I've heard, in the next life our body designs are a massive upgrade from this model. Old texts say that we won't need to wee, poo or flem up. It's all very advanced technology. That said, I'm hoping that we still get to splash the sauce on some buns once or twice a week. But the others I believe it doesn't matter if you believe or not as long as you are a decent person and you don't need a God to tell you to be one. Same here.
flowwolf Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 I equate humanist with the word gullible. After all you would have to be gullible to take a online test like this in the first.

No, you would have to be gullible to believe the test, taking the test is a bit of fun to pass the time when bored. Beats gardening
