JonnyBoy Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Watching a program on abortion and was wondering what peoples views are on the matter?
FoxyPV Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Women have the right to choose what do with their bodies. They should have that choice. If they don't what to have an abortion then fair enough but they NEED to have the choice.
Tommy G Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Watching a program on abortion and was wondering what peoples views are on the matter? If this is on your mind I'd rather you call me than ask people's advice on here. No way could you support a child on your student loan
Rincewind Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Never realised there was a different law in NI. I know it's something to do with religion and all that but thought our laws applied to all GB. And I'm Pro-choice.
Harry - LCFC Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 People make mistakes, we should give them a chance to correct them. And let's face it, having a child can be a big mistake if you're in the wrong circumstances. Pro-choice.

And I'm Pro-choice. No, politics is devolved to an extent, so the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish governments can vote on things passed by Westminster before they're enshrined in Scottish/Welsh/N-Irish statue books. Pro-choice, should be up to women whether or not they have a child.
Jon the Hat Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Pro-choice, although find the fact of late abortion utterly depressing.
BoneDog Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Not a fan of the idea myself, except in certain cases, but it's not up to me is it - so you've all still got a choice I think that people should concentrate more on not getting pregnant in the first place if they don't want to have a child, and not put themselves in the situation where they've got to decide.
Captain... Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Should the women need the (potential) father's permission to have an abortion? If medical science reached a point where a baby could be removed from the mother and brought to birth artificially would that be better or worse than aborting it?

That's horrendous.
Charl91 Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Certainly pro-choice. The thing I love about abortions is that you can perform them anywhere. You can use a coathanger, the nearby stairs, even a quick punch in the womb works if you don't have your tools to hand. I'm thinking of writing a book called "101 Abortion methods". Or "Abortion DIY".
Captain... Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Worse. A child with no parents? That's horrendous. Who said no parents, in a situation where: It is life threatening for the mother to continue with the pregnancy. The mother doesn't want to keep the baby but someone else does, i.e. the father or grand parents If it is the consequence of rape and yes it could potentially have no parents, but is that better than not existing?

Are you really suggesting that she has to get permission from a man to get an abortion? I understand what point you are trying to get at though. 2) No.

What age of foetus are we talking here because this already happens, I was present at the delivery of two 26+3 babies by caesarian section two weeks ago. My ex girlfriend was 28 weeks (not when I got with her ) with her twin brother. The third situation I am definitely against.

Yes Empty , abortion seems to have become no more than contraception in the Jeremy Kyle world .

It is a hypothetical situation so any age, they can artificially replicate the whole pregnancy process, even improve it by being able to carefully monitor the baby, what nutrients it gets, what toxins it avoids, no complications with birth. Haha, I had almost forgotten about that band.

I see. I hope this doesn't ever happen for the simple reason that sometimes early pregnancies just need to be ended for reasons you can't quantify or see on a scan, and the best judge of that is the mother.

Of course and in those cases where there is nothing wrong with the baby but there are other reasons to end the pregnancy, now it means the loss of the baby, but if there was an alternative would it be preferable to terminate the foetus or bring it into this world artificially and away from its biological parents.
