Libertine Dream Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 Shame! Wonder if they will sell out their away allocation after that result. Already have done I think
Father Ted Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 lol Back to 4 figures next week, humiliating
Yojoe36 Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 Shows how massive they are when Leyton Orient and Southend get on T.V. Deary me, and a thrashing too. Poor Cov. I'd love to see their attendance on Saturday now.
Guest shearfox Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 That has ruined their chance of attracting more fans, I'm sure a lot of those part timers will not ever return again after tonight...
SystonFox Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 They'll probably win the away leg 3-0 and then spawn it on pens!
Voll Blau Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 Shame! Wonder if they will sell out their away allocation after that result. To be fair I've always thought their away support was reasonable.
Guest Bilo Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 To be fair I've always thought their away support was reasonable. It is for the numbers, they were always boisterous at our place. The 2,000 or so they'd bring to us were always far noisier than the 5,000 or 6,000 we used to take down the M69. Fair play the match was always bigger for them than it was for us, but their fans are a different proposition on the road than the silent bunch that tends to frequent the Ricoh.
cambridgefox Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 To be fair I've always thought their away support was reasonable. think it was last season when Luton had an avg away following about the same as them.
Voll Blau Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 think it was last season when Luton had an avg away following about the same as them. Not all about numbers though, vocally they've always been decent at our place when I've seen them. Plus I can imagine Luton getting to go to all those old-school non-league grounds would probably boost their attendance compared to trips to some of these "Community stadium" type identikit stadia that depressingly keep popping up all over the lower leagues.
Dan Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 Personally find it a complete embarrassment and it proves that they actually do have the fanbase yet they never ever turn up in the league. I also find it incredibly small-time to all jump on the JOHNSTONE'S PAINT TROPHY bandwagon and it kind of makes me glad we didn't do anything in it now. All that for them to dominate and lose 0-3 lol you couldn't make it up. Can see why people aren't arsed by them as rivals. Small and embarrassing club. To be fair I've always thought their away support was reasonable. Vocally better than we've been this season. That's for sure.
AjcW Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Well... I've just got back from Leyton Orient v Southend (dont ask, it seemed like a good idea when the sun was shining) Anyway i've just about thawed out, the atmosphere was fantastic, really nice little ground, just the right size for leyton, interesting to see some of the names on show, a certain Lee Cook who wasn't bad a few years back is terrible now (and was slated by his fans) Leyton had a fair few injuries tonight and that probably added to the reason behind the 1-0 defeat... well, that and this Mooney bloke up front who was SHOCKING and missed three open goals! Anyway the one thing I took away from it was how far the Championship has come over the last few years in terms of quality! It was all route 1 from both teams tonight, horrible to watch All in all a decent night out though with the atmosphere etc.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Sorry but that's embarrassing. It just shows you that they've got no excuse for their shit attendances. 20,000 more turn up as soon as Wembley is in sight. Worst fans in the country. Wouldn't say it's embarrasing, more shows that the administration got it right and made it enticing to go. On the flip side it also probably shows that there are people out there willing to watch Cov but the administration aren't doing enough to entice them to show up regularly
Guest MattP Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Glory Hunting, no other word for it.I Bet you had 18,000 in there that were sat in the pubs at the weekend cheering for Liverpool or Man U.
AjcW Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Well we could call it glory hunting... But then again it is the Johnstones Paint Trophy and it holds about as much glory as winning the egg and spoon race against a fat kid...
Fox92 Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Well we could call it glory hunting... But then again it is the Johnstones Paint Trophy and it holds about as much glory as winning the egg and spoon race against a fat kid... Doesn't matter about the reputation of the JPT (people will see it as 'small time' although I wanted us to win it), Coventry have a chance of getting to Wembley before we do.
Guest MattP Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I really hope they had some time left after they scored those two goals to have genuine hope they could get another.

Super_horns Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 I like the way he just keeps going and then is stunned when the commentators correct him!
