Jimmy Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 How about a loan move for Marvin Sordell who plays for Bolton. Give them a loan fee and take on his wages. He has a decent record in the Championship and Bolton signed Craig Davies in the last transfer window. Sordell starts for Bolton
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 Few names that haven't been mentioned. Simon Church at Reading (not a bad record for Reading considering he was sub most of the time) Vellios for Everton (similar to Chris Wood) Sammy Ameobi at Newcastle (looked pretty handy every time I've seen him play) Rory Donnelly at Swansea (purely on the basis he has a better goals to game ratio than Doyle in Irish football) I think what this thread has done is highlight the paucity of options available to us. Waghorn is the one that puzzles me. Earlier in the season he was outstanding but he's returned to his old habits. We've seen what he can do at his best before so he's probably still the best option IMO.
fleckneymike Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 There does seem to be a dearth of strikers at Premiership level. Only Redknapp still stockpiles them.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 There does seem to be a dearth of strikers at Premiership level. Only Redknapp still stockpiles them. I think there's a few that may well be available if we tried hard enough and if Pearson really wanted to take a punt. Same as in the transfer window though, I doubt he'll dip his toes very much.
fleckneymike Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 As this thread as show its easy to say but impossible to name one. We had the luxury of picking up (albeit to no avail) proven strikers just two seasons ago. Now? Not so sure.
fleckneymike Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 He's played when available. Only recently returned to the squad after a long injury absence.

(Or has he gone somewhere) Wickham There's a possible four... As I said, it all depends how much City want someone in? If they do they need to make it happen.
marko Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 ? Simon Church Jason Roberts - Crocked Dudley? (Or has he gone somewhere) - Blackburn Wickham - Sheff Wed There's a possible four... As I said, it all depends how much City want someone in? If they do they need to make it happen.

ruisliptiger Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 Surprised nobodies mentioned George Boyd.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 So just Church then? Hmmm. Hmmm Looks like you could be right then Mikey boy...
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 Simeon Jackson? Norwich are struggling for goals and he's one of only four strikers in their squad now Kane's gone. I doubt they'll be letting him go. Only realistic options seem to be Church or Berahino.
Jimmy Posted 17 February 2013 Posted 17 February 2013 if we're looking just for a target man Matt Smith has beasted both Liverpool and Everton recently, could be worth a look is Andrew Johnson injured at QPR?
smelly-pooface1 Posted 18 February 2013 Posted 18 February 2013 I was joking (about the crossing) but I just do not understand how people can say he is that quick, i've seen most of his games and he's nowhere near the speed of Dyer and seems not much quicker than someone like Nuge to me. well nuge is very fast mind, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCmz7IZQDwo look at his pace on the second goal.
