Apparently a good old ground, they have a very good fanbase, and could be a crucial game in terms of getting play offs.
HEGGSY Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 But a ballache to get to That 3-2 defeat on the first day of the 10-11 season there was a ****ing horrible day lol
Dan Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 Class atmosphere though. Gonna jib U18's again. I actually thought it'd be more than it is.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 £15 ticket and nice and local to me, thanks very much.
Voll Blau Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 But a ballache to get to That 3-2 defeat on the first day of the 10-11 season there was a ****ing horrible day lol Only if you can't understand a tube map.

Apparently a good old ground, they have a very good fanbase, and could be a crucial game in terms of getting play offs. All my friends are Palace fans so end up going to Selhurst quite a bit. They don't have an especially good fanbase, it's just the holmesdale fanatics are in the corner going mental while the rest of the ground is a morgue. It's also a massive rust bucket, but does have a lot of personality and history. I was such an asshole when we did the double over them last year so we really need to not lose this...
z-layrex Posted 23 March 2013 Posted 23 March 2013 But a ballache to get to That 3-2 defeat on the first day of the 10-11 season there was a ****ing horrible day lol How is it a ballache? So easy on the train.
Jiggers the Fox Posted 24 March 2013 Posted 24 March 2013 what's the best way to get the train across London to this? Thinking of parking up at Stanmore and getting the train from there.

Stanmore to London Bridge on the Jubilee Line, then transfer to London Bridge railway station and on to Norwood Junction (Horsham is the terminus), a 15 minute walk from the ground.
Bert Posted 25 March 2013 Posted 25 March 2013 Stanmore to London Bridge on the Jubilee Line, then transfer to London Bridge railway station and on to Norwood Junction (Horsham is the terminus), a 15 minute walk from the ground. You can also get into Victoria and then get a train from there to Thornton Heath if Iirc. There's a spoons across the road and a 10/15 minute walk to the ground.

lcfc"weasel" Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Any cheapish train tickets for this? Check megabus see if they've got ote going on, that'll get you as far as St. Pancs, then it's just getting across London.
SmithyFox12 Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 But a ballache to get to That 3-2 defeat on the first day of the 10-11 season there was a ****ing horrible day lol Totally agree, I went on the LCFC coaches and it took around six hours to get home!
lcfc"weasel" Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Totally agree, I went on the LCFC coaches and it took around six hours to get home! If you're on about the time when we played there and it was the first game of the season, it wouldn't be fair to use that as an example.
billyn88 Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 Coming from outside London your best bet for cheap trains is to get your train to London separately then if you have any kind of railcard go to a mainline station and you can get an all day travel card which will cover you to Thornton Heath and beyond for around a fiver. The ground is a dive but its the only London ground I've seen us win at in 10 attempts (other nine all defeats!) I may well be scrapping for last minute returns on this but I didn't think Brighton would make general so who knows.
Harry - LCFC Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 gonna walk from St pancras for this That's got to be over five miles from St Pancras to Selhurst Park, that'll take over an hour and a half. Are you sure about that?
