Guest Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 To me music is about soul and emotion not how the package comes. Nick cave or Leonard Cohen? Nick Cave. I have much more respect for Kingfox since he has come out of the closet, any more attacks on him can be classed as homophobic.
Captain... Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 get a guy or girl sitting down with a guitar, to me that's what music should be about in this era. Johnny Cash, Jimmy Hendrix or Bob Dylan
Guest Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 Johnny Cash, Jimmy Hendrix or Bob Dylan Jimmy Hendrix (not that the alternatives in your suggestions are bad).
kingfox Posted 18 April 2013 Author Posted 18 April 2013 To me music is about soul and emotion not how the package comes. Soul is good stuff. Sam Cooke, A change is gonna come can be classed as soul. That's one of my favourite songs.
kingfox Posted 18 April 2013 Author Posted 18 April 2013 Johnny Cash, Jimmy Hendrix or Bob Dylan My dad saw Bob Dylan at De Montfort, so I will say I prefer him. Jimmy Hendrix is too hardcore for me, Johnny Cash
Corky Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 Johnny Cash, Jimmy Hendrix or Bob Dylan Don't like his posts in the main forum, so not him.

Been meaning to grab his new album anyone know if it is any good, will be seeing him at Glastonbury, will have to go a long way to top Leonard Cohen at Bennicassim as the sun set, left me in tears that man, was beautiful.

I don't mean soul as a genre, I mean having some emotion behind, being real, being raw and actually saying something more than 'I'm pretty, I have a nice voice, this song will make me money'. This could be any genre, even pop, some of the most heart rending emotionally charged songs are pop songs. Daphne or Celeste?

Have the early Birthday Party albums on vinyl, bought new and loved his end of the millenium stuff even more - especially boatman's but lost touch recently. You've probably inspired me to renew my acquaintance with his newest works - thanks.

kingfox Posted 18 April 2013 Author Posted 18 April 2013 Just went on youtube. Videos recommended for you - Justin Bieber(Christmas Eve) audio version
BoneDog Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 When I was thinking about changing FT username the other day I was going to be 'ChinnyChinChin', but typed it into Google to check I'd got the right phrase and 'Chinny Chin Chin One Direction' came up in Google predictor. That was all I needed to know, and sadly that name choice had to go in the bin. Bieber FTW.
BoneDog Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 King Crimson 1969 Or Genesis 1973? Genesis. Never heard of KC in truth but love a bit of early Genesis. Follow You, Follow Me awesome stuff.
Guest MattP Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 Are the blink guys still dressing like they're 10 years old? If they are putting clothes on its a bonus.
Carl the Llama Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 Asking me this would be like asking me would I rather drink my own piss or eat my own shit. The answer to that would be neither. So there's your answer. If that's a difficult choice for you then you are more willing than most to eat your own shit.
Jon the Hat Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 Years ago the music industry was dominated by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, my era was dominated by the likes of S Club 7, Steps and Hear Say, this era though is currently being dominated by two immense acts. They have taken over the music industry, they have taken over the World, and rightfully so because they are that talented. So who do you prefer... Justin Bieber or One Direction? Would you rather be a Belieber or a Directioner? Discuss What?
cambridgefox Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 King Crimson 1969 Or Genesis 1973? original singer in Genesis..........answers on a post card to The Peter Gabriel competition .This was actually broadcast many years ago, still makes me laugh.
cambridgefox Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 It's an honest question mate. They are in the news every day, and you really can't get enough of them. Listen to Bieber's acoustic album, he will turn your mind. Turn my mind, its turning my stomach.Anyway some that have been mentioned Blur,Blink,2pac,Hendrix,ozzy,Faith no more.Bieber.
BoneDog Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 I must say that when I said Bieber FTW it was an end of post joke. Don't think I've heard any of his songs and only know what he looks like because of that picture in the General Sport Joey Barton thread where someone said he looks like a featherless sparrow or something like that! I'm strictly in the 'haven't got the foggiest' camp.
