Top Five Flurries of Leicester Goals

As a few people have commented upon, that feeling when Lloyd's goal went in on Tueday was incredible. Made me think of a few more times when we've scored twice in quick succession. When it really changes a game, especially towards the end, it's awesome.

I have probably missed some really obvious ones! Anyway, I would go for:

5) Leeds at home in 03/04. Dickov's goal to make it 2-0 moments after Nalis's wonder strike. I was texting a mate about how good Nalis's goal was and looked up just as Dickov smashed it into the corner.

4) Tuesday night against Bolton. So rare that a decent team has a run like we've had, it seemed almost impossible when the ball went in off the bar rather than back out into open play. For it to be Dyer as well, every time he scores it reminds me of the League One season, especially the start when we suddenly had this ridiculously quick winger who scored goals and then went absolutely mental with the fans, after years of awful, one-paced midfielders out wide in the mid-2000s.

3) Forest at home in the play-off season. Gallagher's free kick followed up by King's sidefoot to make it 3-0. It was edgy at 1-0 but the quality of the second goal and then to add a third on top straight afterwards was brilliant.

2) Forest away (the second Clive Clarke game) - Clemence's winner after Stearman's equaliser. I will always remember their players keeping it in the corner and acting cocky right next to the away end minutes from the end. An incredible turnaround after that.

1) Derby away, April 1998 (just over fifteen years ago now...) - Izzet's flying header to make it 2-0. I think that was one of our recent pinnacles really, along with the 5-2 against Sunderland. It was a pinch-yourself moment - are we actually two goals up after three or four minutes away to one of our local rivals, televised around the world, standing there in bright sunshine?

What about Bristol Rovers at home in league one, 1-0 down in the 89th minute Fryatt bagged a double and we won 2-1. Brilliant.

Or Arsenal 3-3 never gone so crazy when we made it 2-2 then so down as they went 3-2 up then even more mental as Walshy powered in the equaliser!!!! Heart is racing just thinking about it

Was this the Derby game with a flurry of 4 goals in 12 or so minutes, all headers.Derby fans leaving before 15 mins.

I was in the pub at Euston for that. Sat at the bar on my own, miserable as sin. Just about to catch my train, went off to the toilet, came back and it said full time 2-1 to us. Felt like doing one of those actions they do in cartoons when they rub their eyes and crane their neck forwards with their eyes wide open.

That's the badger. They were all great, don't get me wrong, but Izzet's arrived so quickly after the first. It felt like we'd won the game after three minutes.

Here's two more

1) Swindon PO Final - never known celebrations like it when Steve T scored the equaliser. I ended up 5 rows in front of where I'd started!

2) 4-4 at Villa just after Little had left I think. 3 goals in last 12 mins culminating in I think a David Lowe last min equaliser.

There's been loads of occasions when we've scored twice or more in fairly quick succession. The most memorable are always when it's at the start or end of a game. The 4 goal blitz at Derby is probably the most memorable, though I remember Chris Garland getting 2 in injury time, (against West Ham I think), when he actually netted the second about 15 seconds after the restart from his first!

iThere were a couple of late shows against Swindon in the 80s 0-2 to 3-2 and, I think 1-3 to 3-3 in the dying stages of both games. There was also that night when we were trailing Brentford 0-2 with about 8 or 9 mins to go and won 4-2!

Wasn't there a game against Leeds too, (League Cup I believe), when we came from behind to win in the last couple of minutes?

Garland, what a night. Yes it was against West Ham. At the Kop end. Nearly broke the net he hit the second so hard. Remember it well.

I literally don't think I've EVER gone as crazy as when Stevie Thommo scored that equaliser!

We went berserk!!

Then cried when they got the late penalty... :o

Exultation and despair in equal measure that day buddy!!

That was the most increible game. That 2nd half City absolutely tore in to Swindon, attacking the end where the Leicester fans were. I remember Lee Philpott being instrumental in at least one goal! Everyone going absolutely mental when we eqaulised and then the crushing despair of losing to a penalty. Paul Bodin who scored the penalty would, I think (happy to be corrected), go on to MISS a penalty the following season for Wales in a crucial World Cup qualifier. Tw@

Nice piece.

The Bristol game in League One set the tone for the rest of the season. Think it was shortly after we'd thrown away that 2 goal lead at the Withdean.

lol

I think it was Bodin.

Can you remember the fella who dived/ won the penno?

Can't recollect it for the life of me...

Got to be the Swindon play off final for me in 1993! Shame we lost it. Also I know it was a done deal after we went 2-0 up against Cambridge in the play off semi in 1992 but those goals just kept flying in like there was no tomorrow, 5-0, it could've been 10 - superb!

Steve White was the fellow allegedly brought crashing down - hmmm!

My first ever game vs Swindon in 1987 when we won 3-2 after being 2-0 down. Seems as though them goals went in pretty fast. Also kept chuckling to myself as some Rastafarian bloke was going mad at 2-0 down and his mood slowly, but surely changed

Great thread. You can't beat 2 quickfire goals. Unless you got 3 quickfire goals of course.

Out of the ones mentioned I was only there for number 3) and the Bristol Rovers one, both classics. The two goals in 2 minutes against Forest will always be one of my favourite Leicester moments, probably only behind Howard against Leeds.

I think Huddersfield at home in league 1 we scored 2 in 2 minutes to go from 1-2 to 3-2?

Weren't we 2-0 up after 2 minutes at Millwall one season?

I remember Claridge scoring for them after about 20 seconds in a game we barred their fans from coming to. When was that one?

2002, 4-1 win.
