Thracian Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Extraordinary - talk about the unpredictably compelling drama of football. When we blew the lead Kingy gave us I thought "there goes another lead" and probably our last chance for the season. Knocky's hardly been shaping up as the most likely hero these last few weeks but he found an ace up his sleeve this time for sure. Still finding it hard to believe but there's no rule about how late you leave it to get in the play-offs. I just hope we can finish the job now.
iamafox Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 I didn't believe for a second we could do it. I didn't believe the players were up for it. I didn't believe we could win the game today. But I love to be proved wrong and I sure as hell was. Absolutely thrilled for the players, they played their hearts out because they knew what was at stake. And the atmosphere was just amazing, not just because it was a typical East Midlands derby, because the winner would sneak into that 6th spot (unless Bolton won of course). Looking forward to the 2 legs against Watford now, those 2 losses won't mean anything when we play them twice more. Maybe I should change my name to 'iamahappyfox'
Wycombe Fox Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Blue Armmmeeeee! Let's hope it's 1996 all over again with O'Neill and not 2010 in Cardiff with Pearson! Nobody gave us a prayer to make the play offs after the Watford defeat but here we are again under big Nige, three years later with the same opposition facing us again! Well done to Nige though after all the stick he's endured on here. Results have a tendency to shut the constant moaners up! We've rode our luck today, now we need to do it all again for the next two, maybe three games! Up the Foxes! There's no Wayne Brown this time to unsettle the side with his BNP rubbish.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 I don't know if its been mentioned, but did any Leicester fan in the home end celebrate when we scored the third?
dedlock Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 I don't know if its been mentioned, but did any Leicester fan in the home end celebrate when we scored the third? Sadly wasn't there but my wife wondered why I was "being so loud"!
ramadaone Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 I don't know if its been mentioned, but did any Leicester fan in the home end celebrate when we scored the third? Was in a box on the half way line with Forest either side in their boxes and the whole lower their of Forest below usCelebrated the first 2 goals without going to over the top so got a few looks but nothing too bad After 93 mins I couldn't stand it any longer so stepped outside to watch the big screen in the bar When ball was cleared up field I could see it was 4 on 1 so sprinted back into the box just as Wood rolled it across for Knockys to stroke it home Went absolutely mental and had Forest fans banging on the glass from all angles but there was no holding me back and they had both barrels Looking back maybe not the wisest move but the glass looked pretty tough to me so f*** em My lad was in the Forest end and in under to stay un noticed he had to stand up and clap when they scored !! When we scored the winner he got up,cheered, ran down the stairs and somehow blagged his way into the away end and joined in with the celebrations !! A day to remember for ever
adam Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Listened to the game at home. What a result. Hopefully we should be flying in the playoffs. Couldn't listen to the game after we scored the third. Turned the radio off and paced round the house for five minutes. Brilliant. Roll on Thursday We are going up!!
Buzzell Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Listened to this on my phone in Soar Point earlier. Still can't believe we actually made playoffs! Unbelievable...
Poakey Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Really was an incredable afternoon.great atmosphere in the end but quite tense through the match. One of the best games i have seen, some cracking saves from both keepers , end to end, pearsons gamble in the end paid of by going for it, could of easily gone the other way.Its a game me and my 4 year old boy will remember for the rest of out lifes.Just the best day.

marbelladave Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Fooking hell, what a game....... I said a couple of weeks ago that there was no way we would make the playoffs, so how def huck did we do that. Beating Forest for the first time in 200 years, knocking them out of the playoffs and sneaking in ourselves, all in the one game. I'm just a bit pissed, can barely think let alone type........ Allez les blues.......
