Matt Posted 29 July 2005 Posted 29 July 2005 How do you know there isn't one 146205 How do we know if there is one in that case?!
davieG Posted 29 July 2005 Posted 29 July 2005 How do we know if there is one in that case?! 146250 Which bring us back to the original question, if we don't know whether we do or don't have a female mod should there be any need to specify that we should have one? Just a thought!
shen Posted 29 July 2005 Posted 29 July 2005 I don't see much difference. A mod is a mod. If they can do a job, then I don't care if that person is male or female...
stez Posted 29 July 2005 Author Posted 29 July 2005 I don't see much difference. A mod is a mod. If they can do a job, then I don't care if that person is male or female... 146357 you've not been looking hard enough, women are very different! anyway, a woman would offer a different perspective on a issues i suppose
Cobbo Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 I think considering we have a number of female members that we should have one, we have numerous candidates I believe. It just seems like it's a male run forum at the moment when it isn't a forum containing just male folk.
Deathside Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 I don't see much difference. A mod is a mod. I don't care if that person is male or female... 146357 I'm sure I heard it said many years ago - Male mods ride Lambrettas and female mods ride Vespas (or ride on the back of Lambrettas)
Steven Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 well? 146200 The question is innately sexist.
C-man Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 I'm for a female mod, like stez said it will bring a different side to issues that need discussing, and i also agree with what Sam said, that it seems like a male forum, and this needs changing
Cat Burger Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 NO WAY!!! Not really, who cares as long as a current mod doesn't lose out I'm all for it.
Deathside Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 the question is, do any females want to be mods ? 146595 NO WAY!!! 146614 Hey Burglar - I'm sure you weren't a girly when I last saw you??
shen Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 you've not been looking hard enough, women are very different! anyway, a woman would offer a different perspective on a issues i suppose 146364 It's all relative, stez Does the forum need another mod anyway?
Katy Posted 31 July 2005 Posted 31 July 2005 If Mr C wants to encourage more male posters to the forum then thats up to him, its his forum but at a risk of alienating the female ones? I for one am not overly impressed with the forum at the moment, General Chat is going downhill fast. Maybe this is to do with the close season I dont know but I know what has been happening in there recently has stopped a lot of regular/long term posters posting. I know this has nothing to do with having a female mod but sometimes its better to have a different perspective on things, particularly in the LCFC forum which has become very male dominated.

It's not like we see too many 'male'/chauvinistic threads. And the LCFC Forum is exactly that, all things LCFC. I think Lisa and Louise are doing a good job of making the female voice heard in there, but hardly any other females post there... I can't see why this should have anything to do with it being dominated by males and how having a female mod would subsequently improve this, but what would you suggest to improve it?
davieG Posted 31 July 2005 Posted 31 July 2005 Well I could resign to make way for a female mod. but perhaps then I could argue that the forum and the mods are dominated by fresh faced youngsters . I don't exactly know what point I'm trying to make here, maybe that's because I'm getting old

There is nothing wrong, as Stez states in having a cross section of moderators. You obviously missed my posts in the LCFC forum then
Benji Posted 31 July 2005 Posted 31 July 2005 how do mods stand in terms of what they do? when i did the fantasy league i had the power to close/edit posts but nothing else really. Having a mod is just for a little control over mis-use of posts, surely sex doesn't come into it, just the personality of them. If mr chainsaw is looking for a new mod and the main person in his eyes also happens to be a female, so what? so long as they can do a job, but i don't see a necessity to get one just for the sakes of it, people don't register, read the names of the moderators then bugger off if they are not to their liking.
