Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Even since re-signing permanently I think you could reasonably extrapolate Waghorn's goalscoring record out to be equivalent to a full season scoring double figures. Given all he and we have been through in that time, it's not as bad as some make out.
Soar Fox Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 I'm not surprised he was disappointed. How on earth Harry Kane got more game time than him towards the end of the season i'll never know. Jamie vardy being ahead of him in the squad, well that was a strange one altogether.
roblcfc84 Posted 15 June 2013 Author Posted 15 June 2013 I think he gives a lot and has ability. Scored a cracker for the under 21's a few years ago. But for some reason hasn't quite come off since NP came back. To be fair I think he was shocked someone actually recognised him . His son looked fairly young like new born(ish) so I guess they didn't want to fly abroad.
Danno Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Decent striker, he'd be good for a team like Barnsley or someone
leicesterisme Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 That injury he got (think it was appendix) when he'd just broken back into the side killed him, he looked quite impressive. That's what he needs though to be fair, game time. He's not the kind of player to come off the bench and regularly make an impact, he consistently needs to play. I'd love him to stay but obviously if he's not going to be involved then we may aswell move him on and get a bit of money for him.

Unless he gets much much much better, it's one of the most perplexing managerial decisions I've seen a City manager take in recent years.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 why did my thread go down and not this one? dis is all bollocks.
alanf0x Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 What are some people on?! Better than Nugent? 20 goals a season striker?! Really?
Dickov22 Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Set pieces excellent. Rest of his play terrible. He's a trier, but he ain't up to it. Never has been
Dickov22 Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Kane had to where possible play a part in all league games. Hence him always playing either starting or coming on as sub (sometimes as late as 92 mins like at Palace)

Maybe the rumours that were going round that he had to be played had some truth in them.

Harry - LCFC Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 As I said at the time mate IF this is true it shows extremely poor management and a BAD decision. It's stuff like this that the Pearsonites fail to appreciate or conveniently overlook. I think we're entitled to ignore it though because it's purely speculation. If it were true then I'd condemn the decision instantly as it's clearly bad management. But saying I and others 'overlook' it suggests that it's the truth, despite there being no evidence whatsoever to prove it I don't want to start accusing people of stuff but it's almost like you want this to be true as it just furthers your argument against Pearson and gives you fuel to criticise those who back him.

Typical Pearsonite response... Who cares if its true actually? The FACT is that Kane featured at some point in every game I believe? And he was pants. God knows why Pearson kept playing him. The only conclusion that can be reached is that he had to? If he didn't have to I'm even more perplexed at him featuring. Do try to be balanced and honest in your views. If not its not worth reading..
dog_4 Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 loving the Waghorn isnt very good at football thing! He looked a level above when he was playing regularly before he played against Barnsley which turned out was an apendix issue. Nugent scored 16 goals most in which came september October time and he never turns up away from home all season. Waghorn came on and had a few assists with corners, changed his technique on set pieces and looked a good all round player. and he did score a 4 in 10! I'm a season ticket holder and know what i see. When Nugents giving the ball away every 2 mins and one of the most frustrating players to watch. He doesn't justify being on 20 plus grand a week, get rid!

And might I say it's a typical anti-Pearson response to resort to personal insults, you might not agree with me but there's no need to be rude. But if you want some honesty here it, I disagree with Pearson here, I don't think he was right to persist with Kane and should instead have given others the opportunity. Having said that I imagine Vardy and Waghorn wouldn't have done much better but nonetheless it was worth giving them a go.

dog_4 Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 I suggest you do too! if your in the Nugent is a 25k a week striker! ie good enough to be a first choice striker. Doesn't turn up for 26 away games scores about 4 goals from January to May! He's shit, get rid!

muzzy1981 Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 I'd have wood, nuge, waggy and one other out and out goal scorer, ala cottee, Ebanks Blake? For next season, Cardiff had, helgusson, bellamy, Maynard and richardson. Get rid of Vardy and futacs
i luv u foxes Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 rate this lad highly and for me he is a better player than wood all day long, past two seasons he hasn't been given enough game time at all so has had no chance of impressing as he hasn't been given time to gel into the team only gets 5 minute cameos which wont do anything for him for me overall he is our best striker will get slaughtered for that but would love to see him start a bunch of games in a row and show what he can do
Harry - LCFC Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 There you go.. That wasn't too hard was it? Nope, it wasn't. It's also not particularly difficult to leave out any sarcasm when having a discussion, but no, it's just too much to resist having a little dig at someone when they contradict your point.
topharry123 Posted 16 June 2013 Posted 16 June 2013 I'd like to see him get a run of games. He doesn't get much of a chance to show what he can do when he only plays 5-10 mins and his misses are probably more due to a lack of confidence than ability. I think if he got a good run of games he would be a 20 goals a season striker. I have great respect for Waghorn, will never forget how he reacted when he missed that important penalty. He showed that day what the club means to him and i'd really like to have someone with that passion for the club in the team, obviously as long as he's playing well to go with it.
