Beliall Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 can someone please explain the star ratings please? new season just started and most of my player are now 2-3 star rather than 3-5? is this now becasue theyre being compared to teams in the champions league? the potential rating has also dropped in some cases

Have their Judging abilities decreased? Sometimes I've found when I ask a certain scout with 20 for each, they've given a specific rating. Then I've asked a scout with lesser judging abilities and their specific rating is less because their own abilities aren't as good. Maybe worth getting some better scouts in if possible and see if there is a change?

Even though we won a cup and qualified for continental football. Madness coupled with no players want to sifn for me and I have no transfer budget.

It annoys me with youth teams in crap leagues as absolutely turd players have got stupidly high potential ratings when I know they'll be of no use to me. I've been given £4mil for next season to spend and an improved wage budget. I want Jeremy Pied off Nice but he wants £40k a week. Is he having a laugh?
Beliall Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 Cheers for clearing that up. They should just remove the star ratings, theyre pointless. My 32 goal a season striker has always been 2.5 stars.

The star ratings will change based on several things from what I can see. Other teams in your league/competitions. If you sign better players your current ones will have reduced potential. If you've had success then they'll be judged in relation to your ambition/success.

Ross-Kemp Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 so after being offered a new contract, I negotiated a better transfer budget, they ended up giving me £13 million to spend. I brought in Declan Rudd, Jolean Lescott and Tom Ince on free's, I signed Eder Balanta for £6 million as he was immense on my Chelsea save and spent another £6 million on Will Hughes. I'm at the end of December and I'm currently 7th, absolutely delighted with how it's gone so far. Bennayoun (my 2nd best player in the championship behind Charlie Austin) broke his leg after the 1st game so I decided to take Taarabt off the transfer list and he's been ****ing fantastic so far.

With my youth and training facilities and great youth coaching, he will be! At 15y/o, heading, tackling, determination (!), work rate are all at a decent rate.

FoxLAD Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Think i'm at the stage where i need to change my tactics. I think after 6 season on the same thing they have finally learnt how to kind of stop me. Still top of the league but this time its more of a challenge.

Still top of the league but this time its more of a challenge. Develop two or three nearly identical strategies that all suit the same vague style of play. Maybe one has an extra striker but one less DCM, one has slightly asymmetrical attacking midfielders, one has full backs instead of wing backs, etc. Alternate between them, keep your best for the big games. The press will frequently call you a tactical genius and a tinkerer (in a good way) and you'll find yourself more consistent against the weaker teams. It's worrying how well this works.
