Simon Kuper just tweeted that a blog post about Rangers' demotion to the fourth tier on the Soccernomics site was apparently enough justification for some idiot to launch a DOS attack against the site. P.P.S. It's really bad that every thread that has a comment about either Celtic or Rangers fans doing something naughty degenerates into an argument about who has the worst fans. No, not about which club has the BEST fans--rather, partisans of both clubs will dig up scummy things done or apparently done by their rivals to trump the other side. That tells you everything you need to know about the Old Firm.

They ****ing destroyed Leicester that day and I'm pretty sure they stabbed a Taxi driver or something like that. Rangers fans are just as bad, in some cases even worse. Both pretty embarrassing clubs when it comes to their fan bases, like a fair few clubs around this Country.

They never do themselves any favours at all, and I really couldn't side with either of them.

leicsmac Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I honestly don't get why people from Leicester (or from anywhere else in England for that matter) feel predisposed to pick a side when it comes to those two teams, when fans from both of them feel intent on carrying on a hundreds-of-years-old pointless political, religious and sectarian conflict through the most unsuitable of mediums. If ever there was an argument for sport and politics to be kept separate, this would be it. The conflict as a whole is stupid, and the funnelling of it through football (which should have nothing to do with it) is especially stupid.

I'll never personally forget the gangs of them roaming around town screaming racist abuse at random elderly asian blokes and families where a child had an England top on. Unforgettable. I have no time for violence in football but I have to admit I did enjoy watching a fair few of them get a few licks in and around Filbert Street that night.

Though one of the great things about the Internet, youtube etc is that most people have seen it now and know exactly what they are like.
