Gutted that it's no longer the Blue Square Bet. Who the fvck are Skrill?

Macclesfield could really struggle this season. No discredit to Nuneaton but if they're losing games like that at home then it doesn't bode well. Lost most of their best players and have fvck all money to bring anyone in. Not even really a big club for the Conference despite being Football League for so long so there's no big attraction for decent players.

Obviously a strong start for FGR but I fancy them to bottle it again from Christmas onwards and miss out on promotion. :P

The Blue Square, sorry Skrill South league started on Saturday. Went to see Basingstoke's first home game earlier. Both games won so far, so a good start, although the first goal for 'Stoke was shocking on Gosport's part.

It's also £12 to get in down here. I think that's alot considering the standard of the league. Although I do get a £4 discount thanks to having a Football League season ticket.

Cracking start for Lincoln, 7 points from 3 games, including a very good 2-1 win at home to Forest Green last Saturday. Simpson appears to have spent very well, especially Sean Newton at LB who seems a very talented player.

After last seasons desperate escape from relegation, things look a lot more positive season and I am looking forward to getting down Sincil Bank a couple of times when I get back to uni. Might even take in an away game, I love seeing new stadiums.

Went to Boston vs Telford last night, ok game, 1-1.

Boston scored a right screamer from miles out

How many did Telford bring?, normally well supported away from home.

Another fixture to put in your diaries this bank holiday monday Boro vs Kidderminster. still only £12 entry.

Probably only about a hundred but thats not bad for that level midweek. Boston took  200 up to Stockport the other day.

Lincoln lost 1-0 away at Cambridge yesterday, with captain Alan Power being given a straight red late on with a poor tackle. First loss of the season, but it's still been a good start and the season has potential.

Edgar Davids must surely be the first manager to wear a snapback to a football match. Look at the glares he's getting from the Nuneaton staff!

I can't link this is on my phone, but here's a nice article on a footballer who actually did some good. Admittedly he did get sent off beforehand though :P

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-23847287

A non-league goalkeeper helped save the life of a fan who had collapsed in the stands, minutes after he was shown the red card for a dangerous tackle.

Ben Scott, keeper for Stocksbridge Park Steels was sent off near the end of Saturday's Northern Premier League match away to King's Lynn Town.

The King's Lynn fan, a man in his 70s, had a suspected cardiac arrest and Mr Scott, a staff nurse, went to help.

Mr Scott, 29, helped the St John Ambulance team to stabilise the man.

'Fantastic teamwork'

"I started walking off the field, getting a nice bit of abuse as you do, when I noticed a young girl running past me," said Mr Scott, who works at Doncaster Royal Infirmary alongside playing for the South Yorkshire club.

"She said, 'a gentleman's died', so I followed her into the crowd and came across the gentleman on the floor.

"His heart was in an irregular rhythm."

Mr Scott said he and the St John Ambulance crew were able to give him a shock which put his heart into a normal rhythm.

"It was a fantastic bit of teamwork that gave that gentleman a fighting chance," he said.

"You've got to bear in mind that these guys [st John Ambulance] do it for free - they were fantastic.

"It does put things into perspective - you do realise that football is only a game."

The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn.

A spokesperson for St John Ambulance said the man had recovered and was now back at home.

The game between Stocksbridge and King's Lynn ended in a 3-3 draw.

Seems as if Kettering are days away from folding. Need to raise 58k, Campaign on twitter is trying to get pledges to help raise the amount, but can't see it happening

No sympathy.

What is this? How can you not have sympathy for a club and a set of supporters like Kettering? I have supported Kettering for most of my life and what has happened there has been awful! Coming from Kettering, I had every sympathy when R&D went under and they were the Poppies' biggest rivals. I put my hands in my pocket and gave the fund to save R&D £50 and that was a team who had been bank-rolled by a sugar daddy for years and whose success directly correlated with the decline in attendances of the team I supported. In October 2002 LCFC went into administration. If we (LCFC) had gone out of business then I would have thought it a harsh world if there wasn't any 'sympathy' for the fans! LCFC was rescued by a consortium of profile people associated with the club; Kettering don't have that to fall back on - they only have the fans.
