filbertway Posted 17 November 2013 Posted 17 November 2013 Cracking win for coalville, beating a team 2 divisions above them away from home. I think Solihull had only lost once in the league too. Absolutely brilliant performance from us, they must have underestimated us as we looked in no danger of losing that game at all. We're looking a top team this year can't wait for the First round draw tomorrow. It's been a few years since we had a decent cup run, the last time was in the Vase when we coupled it with promotion. So here's hoping it'll be the same this season!
cambridgefox Posted 17 November 2013 Posted 17 November 2013 BT sport Cambridge away to Barnet.cmon you Us.look like they have taken quite a few down.I was right Cambridge took 1237 away fans for a televised game. There are a lot of teams in our league who don't take that!

Any team which brings above 50 to Sincil Bank is seen as having good support Speaking of Lincoln, a good start has been ruined by a shocking run which has seen us win 3 league games since August. Simpson keeps bringing in strikers to solve the goal scoring problem, but it's the service that's the problem IMO. There's barely a natural winger in the squad and the one we do have never gets played. Testing times for Simpson, especially now that CB Andrew Boyce will join Scunthorpe once January comes.
filbertway Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 Coalville drawn at home to Grimsby in the first round of the FA Trophy! Incredible draw for us.
purpleronnie Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 Coalville drawn at home to Grimsby in the first round of the FA Trophy! Incredible draw for us. I guess only luton could have been better.....fab draw.
filbertway Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 I guess only luton could have been better.....fab draw. It's still regionalised in the first round (north/south) so the best we could have hoped for was Wrexham or Grimsby. Gresley managed to land Wrexham away, so two good draws in our division.

Tevez Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Great draw for Gresley and a fantastic home draw for Coalville.
Leicesterpool Posted 26 November 2013 Author Posted 26 November 2013 Nuneaton Boro beat Alfreton 3-0 tonight
Soar Fox Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Nuneaton Boro beat Alfreton 3-0 tonight Noticed Wes York bagged. Surely it won't be long until a football league team takes a punt on him. Very good young player.

Yeah i think Leicester need to take a look at him, early on in the season it was being rumoured he was having a trial with Birmingham.
Leicesterpool Posted 27 November 2013 Author Posted 27 November 2013 Didn't he hand in a transfer request? In the summer he did apparently, since then heard nothing.
filbertway Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 A draw for us at home to Grimsby on Saturday with the replay being played on tuesday! An away day at Barnet awaits the winners.
cambridgefox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Only good news of the night. The mighty cambridge beat Bury 2-1 in their FA cup replay.Huge game for them at the Abbey v Sheff Utd.Cracking result v league opposition.
ruisliptiger Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 So far so good for my two teams. Wealdstone FC are ticking along nicely near the top of the Ryman Premier and North Ferriby United are doing likewise in the Conference North. The thought that a Village with a population of about 1,000 could possibly have a conference football team is staggering. Wealdstone are steadily attracting bigger crowds after a few years of playing at the Vale in Ruislip. Once the locals fully take them into their heart, there is enough of a catchment area there to one day be getting a few thousand at the very least.
leicesterisme Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Wouldn't be surprised to see North Ferriby in the Football League very soon the way they're going and who they're being bankrolled by.
ruisliptiger Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 they'd need a new ground for that. The current one is hemmed in and far too small. Plus it has no resale value.
purpleronnie Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Wouldn't be surprised to see North Ferriby in the Football League very soon the way they're going and who they're being bankrolled by. yep it'll probably end in tears....not that the fans give a shit though.

Wealdstone are steadily attracting bigger crowds after a few years of playing at the Vale in Ruislip. Once the locals fully take them into their heart, there is enough of a catchment area there to one day be getting a few thousand at the very least.Mate was talking about North Ferriby the other day. Funded by Allam aren't they? I reckon he's setting them up as a platform club, similar to the Watford/Udinese setup. He pumps money in now, which in the Conference is gold but back pocket change for him. He carries this on until Football League standard, in which he now turns round and tells the chairman "you know all that dosh I pumped in, well I need a couple of lads from the youth setup/reserves to get first team football...". This deal may already be in place. A football league team to send youngsters or reserve players to if need be, without he risk of getting too attached. You don't have to wait for loan offers, just send 'em down to North Ferriby. Players local to Hull/ just came from a different country don't want to move? Ship 'em off to North Ferriby down the road. Owning both would be suspicious, already found out like Udinese/Watford. This is just an investment, there's two different chairman who aren't related, it can't be found out. Very clever if my theory is correct.
Leicesterpool Posted 28 December 2013 Author Posted 28 December 2013 Boro face Cambridge this afternoon very big game, if your little bored and doing nothing then about popping down the boro.
NewburyFox Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Cracking start for Lincoln, 7 points from 3 games, including a very good 2-1 win at home to Forest Green last Saturday. Simpson appears to have spent very well, especially Sean Newton at LB who seems a very talented player. After last seasons desperate escape from relegation, things look a lot more positive season and I am looking forward to getting down Sincil Bank a couple of times when I get back to uni. Might even take in an away game, I love seeing new stadiums. Fantastic 2-1 win away at Dartford for Lincoln yesterday, currently sit 4th with 13 points Ah where did it all go wrong Lincoln have now won 3/17 and sit only 6 points above the drop zone. It was such a promising start too but these last three months have been truly dreadful. One of the problems I feel is the lack of width in the team. Simpson's logic has been that we're not scoring enough goals, therefore bring in more strikers. However, I'd say the service is the problem more than the strikers. There's one natural winger in the squad and he's shite. He relies on the full backs for width but they don't get forward enough to make a regular supply. Halifax away today which will be a tough game, then Grimsby on NYD which is a guaranteed loss. I'm beginning to get worried about relegation, the consequences could be disastrous.
Leicesterpool Posted 1 January 2014 Author Posted 1 January 2014 Boro face our big derby against Tamworth this afternoon, fancy us to hammer them to be honest. If your not going down Millwall this afternoon and got nothing to do then head down Liberty Way. Just £12 to get in!
