Because they sat back and did fook all, even the fooking supporters trust voted in favour of moving to nene park.

They certainly didn't sit back and do 'fook all'! I am not sure that you have any idea of what you are talking about in regard to the problems faced by the club on the run up to their move or after, for that matter. I have commented on this in depth in the other thread. I now assume that when you said 'Nene park was a smart move. Maybe one day the fans will wake up.' you were being sarcastic. The lease for Rockingham Road was in its final years and a solution had to be found. I am not saying that Nene Park was a good idea (it clearly wasn't) but it was an impossible situation anyway and the fans had no choice whatsoever but to trust that those managing the club knew what they were doing? The negotiations for a renewal of the lease at Rocky Road had broken down (mainly because the land is prime real-estate), there was no support from the local council for finding somewhere else to play (and it was too late anyway)  and other ground-share options (Corby Town) had faltered. This was not a new thing - it had been hanging over the club for years and the fans and the trust had been very vocal about it. Now, part of the reason that LCFC went into administration was because of the 30mill+ that was spent on the new stadium (alongside relegation and a loss of tv revenue). If LCFC had gone bust as a result it would be pretty harsh to blame the fans for not  objecting to a move that was deemed necessary by the club. Very different circumstances but the same principle. Only the board has all the information on the ins and outs of a football club and as the situation developed at Kettering then of course there were calls for transparency, there were meetings held, there were objections and protests made. It wasn't just a case of jumping into the grave of R&D because we thought we could get something out of it! Kettering fans did not want to move. It was sold to the fans, however, as a way to save a club that was already struggling and that this made the best business sense for the club. KTFC supporters did not go hand-in-hand skipping toward their doom - they have fought to keep the club alive at every opportunity and it is a credit to them that after 3 ground moves, countless winding-up petitions, owners/buyers coming in and then leaving, points deductions, transfer embargoes, relegation, expulsion from the league etc, etc.. that the fans are still working to save their club. Sat-back my arse!  :)

How a supporters trust could vote in favour of moving to nene park with a 25 year lease is beyond me.

I remember how  some kettering fans took great pleasure in the fall of rushden and diamonds. Even had rushden fans telling you supporting Ladak in moving was a huge mistake.

Time to reclaim their club is now I hope they do.

We are agreed on that

I'm sorry for them as I've experienced this with the boro, but unlike the boro the supporters have killed the club themselves the move to nene park killed the club off. That ground is cursed!

But as Arnie would say "They'll be back"

Is Dan Newton still signed on for Nuneaton?

No sadly he moved onto Barwell in the summer, shame he had potential but the conference was clearly a level too high for him.

He'll do well at Barwell and will certainly score some goals in that league.

It's hard in that league with some clubs being part time and others being full time. My friend who plays for Alfreton is full time so goes into training 4 times a week till 1pm. Where as Dan worked for caterpillar and would have to get up for work do a days graft then either has got to travel for a game or training.

Do you know if Nuneaton have looked into going full time?

Your friend it's Connor Franklin right? he was once at boro! cracking player would love to see him back. If you see him again ask him, if there ever was an opportunity to return to boro would he come back?

Going full time? It's been discussed loads of times but the simple problem is money, we just don't have the funds to go full time.  One thing about Nuneaton is we've got all these big names companies within in the area but only a few of them will sponsor the club. Will we ever go full time? the only way i can see that happening is if somebody really wealthy comes in, otherwise if boro ever get into the football league i could see us still remaining part time.

I'm seeing him tonight as it goes. It was his birthday last week so going out to celebrate tonight. Whilst you are part time there's no chance he would return. He would have to take a drop in wages and look for another part time job.

It's a shame that you can't afford to go full time especially with the decline of football around that way. With Hinckley looking like they will go under and Coventry relocating to Northampton there's a good opportunity there to get more people interested in Nuneaton.

Sat in the press box at Sincil Bank, with Lincoln currently 1 down to Salisbury. Been a shocking game, Salisbury set up in a rigid 4-5-1 and then scored a goal with their only chance of the game, a header from a corner. Lincoln meanwhile don't know how to break through them so go long, even more so than a Pearson team.

Something has to change in the second half.

Went to watch Basingstoke yesterday, away to Whitehawk..

No I hadn't heard of them either until a couple of weeks ago, it's a random estate in the middle of Brighton. They lost 1-0 and the standard of football was truly dire!

Great night out in Brighton afterwards though.

Went to Hinckley on Saturday, what a sorry state. Drew 2-2 with Weymouth and to be fair the football they played was alright, especially with the limited amount of resources they have but how the club got into such a state is hard to think. Hopefully they'll be able to sort it out as, for me, they're a really likeable club. If we could, I'd hope that Leicester would help out in some way.

They should i agree, why not a possible feeder club or something. They could some how connect it up with the development team where we could loan out the odd development player to them so the player can gain a little experience. I'm also surprised the development team don't play the odd game at the greene king, the reserves use to? Saves money in using the king power.

Like a Watford/Granada/Udinese type system?

Jokes, I don't want to start that arguement off, again.

We'll just wait for November for that!

;)

How much does it cost you to watch these non-league sides?

Locally it costs £12 to go and watch St Albans which is rather expensive for their level of football..
