Simo86 Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Well if he does mean Schlupp he has been playing at Championship level for years with us now even had a trial with Man Utd last season and Vardy is in his 2nd season playing at Championship level so who knows who the 2 unproven Championship strikers are! Are you seriously saying that Vardy and Schlupp are proven Championship strikers?
Leicester Lass Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Well if he does mean Schlupp he has been playing at Championship level for years with us now even had a trial with Man Utd last season and Vardy is in his 2nd season playing at Championship level so who knows who the 2 unproven Championship strikers are! I'd suggest the fact that between them they're in single figures for Championship goals scored means that they're quite clearly unproven strikers at this level.
sylofox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Alex Ferguson once said the key to his success in the 1999 treble winning season was 4 strikers Cole, Yorke, Solskjaer and Sheringham so if you can win all 3 major trophies with 4 why is 4 not enough for us in a Championship promotion campaign? 4 top draw strikers that would have got into nearly every other side in the prem. (and internationals) And of our 4 we have two that would probably struggle to get in 6 sides in the championship. The other 2 would struggle to get into12 sides starting line up.

Well if they are proven due to games played then they have proven themselves to be poor at this level.
Jace Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Personally I think Schlupp is 1 of the best players in the league if Beckford and Marshall can walk into the Bolton and Blackburn teams I don't see how Schlupp wouldn't. What are people expecting us to have the 4 highest goalscoring proven strikers in the Championship here? There are other clubs looking for promotion too this season lets not forget Matty Fryatt and Kevin Philips in between his TV work were promoted strikers last season before we cry out that are own are not good enough.

Have you come to that conclusion after watching him play left back?
Jace Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Yes really if fans aren't happy with Schlupp as backup to Nugent and Wood then I seriously think our fans have issues because we could do far worse than him
Simo86 Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Yes really if fans aren't happy with Schlupp as backup to Nugent and Wood then I seriously think our fans have issues because we could do far worse than him But he's not being played as a striker
Jace Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 He can and has played as a striker before too you know.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Yes really if fans aren't happy with Schlupp as backup to Nugent and Wood then I seriously think our fans have issues because we could do far worse than him Yeah yeah yeah that's fine One of the best players in the league?? Two very different statements there
Simo86 Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 He can and has played as a striker before you know too I do know that but not very often
Callabinho Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Personally I think Schlupp is 1 of the best players in the league Are you ****ing serious? Wank first touch, Runs down blind alleys, indecisive and all left foot. Kids got pace and that's it other than that I'd say he is completely average. Not even that.
Jace Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 But that doesn't mean he can't hes a young versatile player
hackneyfox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 He can and has played as a striker before too you know. He has but he wasn't very good, if he can't improve, massively, on his performances as a fullback, wingback or striker than he can go as well.
hackneyfox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 But that doesn't mean he can't hes a young versatile player Versatile? Otherwise known as a jack of all trades, master of none?

Manwell Pablo Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Best player in the league not even one of the best players in our squad! What a statement!
Guest MattP Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Schulpp is a decent player and might develop into something half decent but lets not go overboard. Still don't see him as a striker, finishing not good enough.
Happy Fox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Billy Sharp would be a good option we need more firepower upfront. With Dean Hammond signing for us maybe he will convine his old team mate Sharp to finally sign for us!
Simo86 Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 a new striker shell be coming in!... Like the petrol station?
Dan Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Really don't see the problem with 'unproven' players.
hackneyfox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Really don't see the problem with 'unproven' players. Isn't 'unproven' just another way of saying 'not good enough'? or shit
