Long Eaton Fox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 With Futacs gone, Waghorn going, we are left with only Nugent, Vardy, Wood and Schlupp. Blyth has extended his stay at the saints. Will we sign a new striker or give Hopper a chance?
AnotherShitSeason Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 We'll sign one. 20 page thread full of excitement on here. He'll score 3 in 20. Then go back. Yes I have my crystal ball out again this morning.
cc_star Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 We ONLY have FOUR strikers? Shit. We better get Beckford back.
Ric Flair Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 A striker is blatantly coming in, we went for Kevin Doyle and it didn't come off. We've since fooked off Waghorn and Futacs so he'll go for someone will Nigel, he can't help it. In reality we need a new creative player, preferrably out wide and we need to teach Kasper and our defence to stop hoofing it at every opportunity and for our midfield to make themselves available to receive the ball to feet, but just get another forward in and not worry about it.

_Fatboyslow_ Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 cobblers. Bloody egg chaser by the sound of it !!!
Nick Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 We have two strikers and two utility players. We need a third who in all honesty needs to be better quality than what we have.
Bayfox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 We ONLY have FOUR strikers? I thought all the top clubs always had four strikers!!
Silverdaz Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 If we are in for a striker my moneys on either Kevin Doyle or Matty Fryatt
Callabinho Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Billy sharp would be a decent shout, plus with Hammond newly arrived he could put in a good word, I'd imagine it would be in the next few days ready for Wigan.
Dan Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 I thought all the top clubs always had four strikers!! Think that's sort of what he was getting at
Wilson_6 Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 If we are in for a striker my moneys on either Kevin Doyle or Matty Fryatt Wouldn't mind Fryatt back tbh. Always really like him. Not the most prolific striker in the world but would be worth a place on the bench.
hackneyfox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Wouldn't mind Fryatt back tbh. Always really like him. Not the most prolific striker in the world but would be worth a place on the bench. Why do we want to get in a striket that would be okay on the bench? Let's get in a striker that will be unhappy on the bench and actually challenges Nugent, Vardy or Wood for a place on the pitch.
tommyh Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Definatly need a striker who would be our number one striker, wood, nug etc are way too inconsistant!! Who tho i dont know,, BENDTNER on loan from Arsenal the one for me, only if they pay his wages still.
Dan Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Bendtner would be a fvcking dreadful signing. Over-rated, big ego, thinks he's better than he is, not worth the money we'd pay him. Our current strikers are one of the strongest groups in the league. The service to them is what's lacking.

Jace Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Alex Ferguson once said the key to his success in the 1999 treble winning season was 4 strikers Cole, Yorke, Solskjaer and Sheringham so if you can win all 3 major trophies with 4 why is 4 not enough for us in a Championship promotion campaign?
Nick Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Alex Ferguson once said the key to his success in the 1999 treble winning season was 4 strikers Cole, Yorke, Solskjaer and Sheringham so if you can win all 3 major trophies with 4 why is 4 not enough for us in a Championship promotion campaign? Because we have two that can perform on a good day and two completely unproven in the Championship. (Not four who were all proven at the level they were playing.)
Jace Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Who the hell are our 2 completely unproven strikers in the Championship!?
Leicester Lass Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Who the hell are our 2 completely unproven strikers in the Championship!? Schlupp and Vardy at a guess.
hackneyfox Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Because we have two that can perform on a good day and two completely unproven in the Championship. (Not four who were all proven at the level they were playing.) That sums up the situation for me perfectly.
Jace Posted 11 September 2013 Posted 11 September 2013 Well if he does mean Schlupp he has been playing at Championship level for years with us now even had a trial with Man Utd last season and Vardy is in his 2nd season playing at Championship level so who knows who the 2 unproven Championship strikers are!
