The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 Looking to go and play a bit of snooker with my dad Friday. First, has Rileys in Loughborough shut? If so where else is there in Leicester? We're both shit, just looking for somewhere to go. Any ideas help would be good. Cheers
separator Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 The Willie Thorne snooker hall on Charles St closed, council converting the building to a new office I think. Not sure if they relocated. That's the only one I knew of unfortunately
NathanBlueFox Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 Spot on Leisure, Loughborough is good.

Ashley Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 Rileys at DMU, pretty central to town. What ever you do DO NOT HAVE A PINT IN THERE. I went in before the Derby game and it was vile I assume what I drank is what piss tastes like.
Father Ted Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 What ever you do DO NOT HAVE A PINT IN THERE. Club 147 is another option but not sure if they're strict on only allowing members these days?
kingfox Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 Yep only Deacon Street, where I go to sometimes, only have three tables though. That's about it, apart from 2-3 clubs in town, but they are mostly Pool I think.
lavrentis Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 Been in rileys tonight, after hating it every time I ever go in there. Tried to charge me £4.15 for cider.
jonthefox Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 There's one on Oadby industrial estate (forget the name). I often see Mark Selby buying his breakfast next door.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 October 2013 Author Posted 1 October 2013 First break. Mark Selby practices there and plays for their pool team. Not a bad player to have in your pub pool team eh? Will try the one in Loughborough. Noway am I driving to oadby for a couple of frames of snooker!

NewburyFox Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 First break. Mark Selby practices there and plays for their pool team. I used to play there. It's bloody difficult to put together a break of more than 8 when the world number 1 just cleans up the table roughly 5 metres away

Can't recommend Spot On highly enough, good tables and very very reasonable prices. Me and a friend go every sunday.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 October 2013 Author Posted 5 October 2013 Can't recommend Spot On highly enough, good tables and very very reasonable prices. Me and a friend go every sunday. That's where we ended up going. I never realised that place was there despite my mate living nearby. Got free membership, and had 3 frames for about £13. Very reasonable and shall go there again. I've not played for ages (about 10 years) so managed a break of 11
