Suggestions please
NathanBlueFox Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 only ever been to the sympathy rooms and the one next two Cex in town, dont expect singing or anything.
foxfanazer Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Counting house near the ground is decent. Usually a good atmosphere in there pre match. Plus Bernie is always in there
Kitchandro Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 It depends what you're looking for. Do you want to be in with a load of City fans or do you want a drink within half an hour?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 only ever been to the sympathy rooms and the one next two Cex in town, dont expect singing or anything. Sympathy rooms. I am howling at that. F bar for me. In town by 930 on Saturday.
Unabomber Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 I go to the Soar Point, it's alright and the prices are reasonable and it's a nice walk down the canal to the ground.
wight88 Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Make sure you don't get roped in with florist fans by the old bill when you come off the platform. Also make sure you don't wear nikes with your stone island when walking round town.
Stadt Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Make sure you don't look like a lad, especially if you don't want a row!

skegness fox Posted 3 November 2013 Author Posted 3 November 2013 That was supposed to be a reply to wookies post
skegness fox Posted 3 November 2013 Author Posted 3 November 2013 Used to go swan and rushes then the peel but may try counting house
Guest Bilo Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 The S&R is a cracking pre-match pub, always worth a visit and cracking beers. The Last Plantagenet is a shit tip, avoid. If you want a bigger pub that's nice and close to the ground with a bit of atmosphere, you can't beat the Counting House really. It's far superior to the Local Hero imo.
wight88 Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Buy two at a time if you go counting house after one though.
skegness fox Posted 3 November 2013 Author Posted 3 November 2013 Cheers guys may go straight up to counting house
Vlad the Fox Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Buy two at a time if you go counting house after one though. The service is so slow up there.
absolutelegend Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 You can get a decent pint in the Western.
Bayfox Posted 4 November 2013 Posted 4 November 2013 All much of a muchness mate, Counting house, Local Hero, always busy, but may take a while to get served. Peel is alright, doesn't take quite as long to get a drink. Western is a Steaming Billy pub now, but not as busy as it used to be. If you want a cheap pint away from the town, the lost bar on narborough rd, not the biggest place but it's out the way if you don't want any hassle.
Ric Flair Posted 4 November 2013 Posted 4 November 2013 As a man who loves South East Asian Lager, I can't get enough of Nine Bar on Narborough Road that serves ice cold Tiger. Usually go there and The Western. If I come in on the train i'll always have a few in what used to be called Time Bar, is it now called The Yard?
