absolutelegend Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 A very average defender who looked decent under Pearson and a liability under Sousa etc. They've got Hobbs and we've got Morgan, and I like it that way thank you. I was reading the forest message board earlier and some forest fans were convinced hobbs was better than wes. Oh, and I won't clap, boo, or anything. I'm really not that bothered about him.
KFS Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Could not agree more... I've said it many times, Sven supposedly replaced Hobbs with Mills because the latter was meant to be a 'footballing defender'... What an incredible joke that was and I mean incredible. Jack Hobbs... A young, solid centre back who had performed extremely well with Wayne Brown during the previous season to be sold for peanuts... And then replaced with Mills, who cost the club 4.5 million? A truly truly ridiculous bit of football management. And Sven got a pay off when he left! Barmy... Col, why are all your posts set out like a poem?
ADK Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I don't think there is much between Wes and Hobbs apart from Wes has more experience so that gives him the edge. Neither are "footballing defenders" and neither have fantastic agility or pace.
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Col, why are all your posts set out like a poem? Shall I compare thee to a summer's day...
Captain... Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I'm still trying to work out who you mean? Stan Collymore? Yup, I did put arguably, but I didn't hear any complaints about him being ex forest when he banged that hat trick in against Sunderland. Probably should have put the most talented player I've seen pull on a city shirt.
Kitchandro Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Me, I said we are not a ridiculous rivalry where death threats get sent, see Manchester rivalry where Tony Coton got death threats for switching clubs, the point being we are 2 clubs geographically close-ish, with a bit of history, but not that much, we aren't great rivals and there should be no stigma about playing for both clubs. We aren't rivals in the vein of Manchester clubs, Liverpool clubs, Glasgow clubs. The fact that an ex player of ours has joined Forest really means nothing. Don't start with that. I don't give a shit if it's not the Manchester Derby, I'm telling you there is a stigma, because I don't clap Forest players. Yeh I know you brought up death threats but who brought it up before? No one, so why did you?Stupid, irrelevant comment. I can sort of understand your point about us not being like the Glasgow clubs as they're political but neither Liverpool or Manchester Clubs are so other than the fact they're all bigger clubs I don't see why you're trying to suggest it's not comparable. I fvcking hate Forest and as far as I'm concerned if you're playing for them you're the enemy. In exceptional circumstances I might feel a bit different but Hobbs is not a club legend for us and he plays for them. End of story for me.
Kitchandro Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I really don't know if you and others are being serious, lets just have a look at some of the people that have connections to both clubs. Current Club Captain and best player is a Forest legend. BOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Best player to pull on a city shirt (arguably), Forest legend. BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Best manager the club has had in recent times, part of the best Forest side ever. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Erm... Alan Rodgers But they don't play for Forest now, do they? Morgan's in our team now, (and it's pretty funny they consider him a legend) Shilton? Yeh I would boo him. Claims to be a Leicester fan,the cvnt. Don't care how good he was, I don't like the arrogant Judas. Again, came to us after Forest. Me booing Hobbs has nothing to do with me hating him, because I don't, I liked him when he was here. It's to do with him playing for Forest now. When he puts the Forest shirt on, he's the enemy. Clapping him like he's a legend or like we still love him? Nah, ta. From the moment he steps onto that pitch to the moment he steps of it he's one of them. EDIT: My bad you meant Collymore. I think I've covered what I mean though.

Guest shearfox Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Hobbs did a good job when here, but we have moved on he wouldn't even make it into our team now. I'm choosing not to boo or clap him.

I think I've covered what I mean though. I'm not saying clap like he's a legend, I'm saying clap him like he is an ex player who did well at the club and left to find first team football returning to the club, if he had left us for Forest claiming they were a bigger club, then you would be right to boo him, but you are honestly going to give him grief for taking a job, probably the best option he had available to him because he once played for a club that don't really like them, although not as much as they don't like Coventry or Derby, or maybe more, we can't really decide. I think you can see that the majority of people don't agree with you, there is no stigma around playing for both clubs it is just a job for Hobbs and many others, hate the club, hate the fans, but I would struggle to name any of their players, and wouldn't hate any of them for playing for Forest.
Guest MattP Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 No idea what you are all on about, spent his whole career at Surrey. Super player.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Bamba was fifteen times the player Hobbs ever was

I'm saying get on his back at the match like he was any other player. I want him to feel intimidated when he walks out like any one of their players. I want him to make errors, I want him to feel like he's up against it. Why shouldn't we give him grief? It makes sense to, we give their other players grief, we give players from most opposition sides grief. Why should he be spared when he plays for our most hated rivals? He's no longer a Leicester player, he may have been good while he was here and I don't have anything against him as a bloke, but from a football perspective he's soured my good memories of him now. He's made his bed and that's fine, he's a footballer, he made a career choice. But don't expect me to give him any sympathy when I'm calling all his teammates and the ref every name under the sun. Oh and by the way, only teenagers and people from Hinckley hate Coventry the most, and even less people hate Derby the most. So no idea what you're on about there, the majority of the fan base have decided. Do you really need another FuriousFox poll?
Bluetintedspecs Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Shall I compare thee to a summer's day... He's a poet And didn't know it
Jace Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Bamba was fifteen times the player Hobbs ever was 15 times further up the pitch more like
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Anyone booing him because he plays for Forest should be ashamed, many players have moved between us and Forest over the years, we are not some ridiculous rivalry where death threats get sent because they moved to a rival, and I'm glad of that. I love it when we beat Forest, but that is the club and the fans, I don't really care about any of the players. He should get a clap when his name is read out, and maybe at the end if he acknowledges us, but if he gives us any during the game he'll get a load of stick back and plenty of Leicester reject, but I don't expect that. He always came across as a sound lad and was a good player for the club, for 2 seasons and widely tipped as future captain was gutted when Sven forced him out the club. Stop being such a pansy!! He plays for the red shite and should be booed. Hopefully put him off his game a bit too. I support Leicester, not an average defender who spent 2 and a bit seasons with us.
Jace Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 What does a player need to do for the club to earn a little respect from the supporters these days?
gazfox9 Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Sven done us a favour getting rid. The fact he won awards here says more about the lack of quality in those sides. We've moved on no end since the days of Hobbs and Brown.
Guest MattP Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 What does a player need to do for the club to earn a little respect from the supporters these days? PASHUN (guaranteed) GET SENT OFF (always a standing ovation) SING (Dannszy) BE A HEADLESS CHICKEN (Savage, Hume etc)
Kitchandro Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 What does a player need to do for the club to earn a little respect from the supporters these days? Not playing for Forest would help!
Jace Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Not playing for Forest would help! Next you will be suggesting we start insulting Leicester City and Forest legend Alan Rogers...
Corky Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 What does a player need to do for the club to earn a little respect from the supporters these days? Retweet you on Twitter.
Simmo86 Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Next you will be suggesting we start insulting Leicester City and Forest legend Alan Rogers... I wonder what Alan thinks about the game on Saturday?
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 What does a player need to do for the club to earn a little respect from the supporters these days? Still play for the club and not for a rival both in promotion and locality possibly. I remember fans chanting "Frankie ****ed your missus" to Peter Shilton when he was playing for Derby in the 90's. Happy days!!
