"Average defender" lol

He was quality for us.

I won't go mad but a clap for me - it's not his fault he was shafted out by a prat of a manager.

You obviously have a selective memory.

He started off looking very good then went downhill, although I agree had Pearson stayed he could have done a job he is not in the same class as Morgan.

I remember being at Palarse away 1st game under Sousa and Hobbs and Morrison were dreadful.

Will be interesting to see their reaction to Wes, if i remember correctly they boo'd him last season, we can show that we are the better fans by applauding Hobbs for his excellent performances he had with us..

They didn't boo him, in fact they sang "You'll never beat Wes Morgan" after the game and he clapped them.

I liked Hobbs when he was here and would've been happy to see him return but Morgan is twice the player and Was and Moore are good partners.

Polite clap and then give him hell

I personally will clap him, he always tried his hardest for us. That's as far as it goes though, he's still a forest defender! And as many have said, we have Morgan, they have Hobbs, we have the better CB!

He couldn't have been that bad in two years he won a young player of the year and player of the year award.

Disagree, they love Wes and gave him a fantastic reception I recall, clapped him off pitch too!

Wayne Brown did an important job next to him, he looked a bit lost without Brown.

I did like him with us but he has his weaknesses and I hope we exploit them.

Agree Corky, wasn't bad but only decentish championship defender, not a patch on our current defence imo.

Really, i stand corrected then, i had had a lot to drink that day :)

Are we really still clapping him after he's been back 2-3 times under a different club? Don't get me wrong he was a decent player for us, but isnt this sort of treatment usually reserved for the first time they come back?

Bang Average, sorry i'm not having that, he was piss poor when he 1st joined, that 2nd half at brighton was awful, but fair play to him, he recovered, improved, yes maybe he needs a leader alongside him, but partnerships are important in football.

Him along side wes would have been decent, not that I want to get into a debate over, wes2 and moore etc. But shipping him out for mills to come in, nearly as bad as the signings sven made in terms of a decision.

I'd still have him here even with what we have now, he'd add strength in depth. I'd have taken him back when he went to the fword.

But as for tomorrow, he's playing for them, so he is the enemy for 90mins and if he chooses to clap the fans in the kop at the end of the game, i will clap him then whatever the result and however he plays, but that is it.

Bang average Championship defender ... just to clarify what I mean by that .....

He'd get in sides that are competing around the 6th-15th mid table sides ..... With a decent partner might be able to cut it in a play off chasing side.... But no better than that.

And he wouldn't make the step up to the premiership - he's solid enough and a decent header and tackler ... but simply not quick enough or good enough on the ball.

I'm not deriding the guy .... just pointing at his limitations and that makes him an average championship defender.

Good post Waller and I agree!

Great player, absolute disgrace the way Sven bombed him out for peanuts and replaced with the likes of Mills and Bamba. No surprise there though, Sven was the worst thing to ever happen to this club.

I'll give him a clap. Anyone who boos him is pretty thick

Anyone booing him because he plays for Forest should be ashamed, many players have moved between us and Forest over the years, we are not some ridiculous rivalry where death threats get sent because they moved to a rival, and I'm glad of that. I love it when we beat Forest, but that is the club and the fans, I don't really care about any of the players.

He should get a clap when his name is read out, and maybe at the end if he acknowledges us, but if he gives us any during the game he'll get a load of stick back and plenty of Leicester reject, but I don't expect that. He always came across as a sound lad and was a good player for the club, for 2 seasons and widely tipped as future captain was gutted when Sven forced him out the club.

Who said anything about death threats?

I liked Hobbs when he was here but he's with them now. He seems the kind of player who might be rattled by getting some stick so it makes sense to me to do so.

Said it before, never rated him.

All too hoof ball for me and no nonsense, if in doubt get it out type of defender.

Very similar to Matt Mills, in terms of style, but better technically.

But still thought he wasn't particularly special.

Yeah, I agree. There's never been a place for no-nonsense defenders in the game. I'd much rather have a centre back who can dribble the ball from the back and bring a bit of flair to proceedings...

Me, I said we are not a ridiculous rivalry where death threats get sent, see Manchester rivalry where Tony Coton got death threats for switching clubs, the point being we are 2 clubs geographically close-ish, with a bit of history, but not that much, we aren't great rivals and there should be no stigma about playing for both clubs. We aren't rivals in the vein of Manchester clubs, Liverpool clubs, Glasgow clubs.

The fact that an ex player of ours has joined Forest really means nothing.

He should be booed he playing for the scum. What an absolute Judas, does he not realise you just can't move to certain clubs once you've played for Leicester.

At least he attempts to pass the ball out of defence.

With a high success rate.
