Harry - LCFC Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Well, just in case you fancy watching a few of the highlights... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x170xri The FLS and these highlights show we really didn't deserve to lose. I'm not too disheartened by the game tbh, performance was more than acceptable.
RedHux Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 You really didn't. However I think criticism of Nugent has been a bit harsh (penalty aside). Darlow made a great save for one header and for the other he couldn't get above the ball and as Schlupp was proving to be no real trouble he was pretty much carrying your entire goal threat. At the other end Billy had clearly targeted "the channels" as the area to attack. I'm no fan of our exhalted leader but he did a good thing dropping Henderson and using the infinitely more mobile Cox and Mackie. No point in taking on a couple of beast cbs at the thing they excel at.The second half was a bit of a mystery to me. Why bother bringing more forwards on if you take off the people who can give them the ball in dangerous areas?
jammie82uk Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Well, just in case you fancy watching a few of the highlights... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x170xri Them highlights just back up how I felt while at the game Only positive is at least I ain't got to watch a defensive negitive play for the point hope for the win display again Well until we play you again that is
Dan Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Thought Knocky was sensational in the first half. Deserved at least one assist. He was still our best player in the 2nd half. Absolutely baffled when NP took him off. One of the weirdest decisions I've ever seen. Still maintain he's the most gifted player in the league.
Harry - LCFC Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Yeah wasn't sure what he was thinking there, thought for sure he'd play more conservatively as the game went on. The last 45 was a bit of a non-event really, we passed it around the midfield a lot and you were happy to watch us. We seem a lot more effective on the counter attack and the way the second half was played meant we were never able to do that. Darlow has impressed me, remember him having a good game last season too.
cjslcfc Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Still maintain he's the most gifted player in the league. That skill through their defender's legs and his numerous runs taking on man after man with his quick feet He's going to develop into some player in the next couple of years. Hopefully it's with us!

Hopefully it's with us! He already is 'some player' for me. He isn't the completely finished article but some of the things he does wouldn't look out of place at the absolute top clubs. If he can do it consistently he'll play for a top side and I'm not exaggerating either. The game was horrible but to be honest I'd be surprised if they come above us. With some of the names on their teamsheet I expected far better football from them. They were poor going forward pretty much all game other than the goals, and I still don't think those goals were down to brilliant attacking either.

Grewks Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Didn't get any big calls wrong, and didn't affect the outcome of the game. The criticism he is getting is undeserved.
Guest Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Do we expect too much of referees? Do we personally expect a referee to nail 100% of decisions because that's unrealistic? We should expect them to get decisions right or else what the fvck are we all doing? I don't go to watch someone's personal interpretation of the rules. And if they can't get them right change the system so they can. Football referees get away with so much compared to other sports, constantly questioned but never accountable.
Bert Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 What we shouldn't expect from referees is them thinking they're the star of the show and the amount of arrogance that they show. Lee mason is one of the worst for it. He doesn't come on here anymore, but Ched told me a story about him that just typified the arrogance of them. Wish they were made to explain decisions or actually made accountable for performances.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Didn't get any big calls wrong, and didn't affect the outcome of the game. The criticism he is getting is undeserved. He completely lost control of the game after 5 minutes when he didn't book Lascelles for a cynical foul in midfield when we had a great chance to counter and had the nerve to book Knockaert for asking him to implement the laws of the game properly. Thereafter we had the unpleasant spectacle of the Forest defenders hacking away at Dyer, then Knockaert and Drinkwater throwing themselves on the floor when they were so much as breathed on in increasingly desperate attempts to win free kicks, and every throw-in taking 30 seconds.

lestajigs Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Still absolutely gutted with the result, that's all
Larry_LCFC Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Really like that video. The last 2 minutes makes me proud of everyone there. Rivals or not, we came together to show our respect. Impeccable silence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lstcZjD-jZ8

Think thats the first minutes silence ive been to at the kp where some tosser in the away end hasnt started shouting 30 seconds into it.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Perhaps officials should be sent to matches, to score the ref. out of ten, Anything below eight on three occasions, and they are dropped from officiating for a month. To be honest though, that would not work, and we just have to put up with the system. Against Forest I thought the ref was ok. No ref. will ever be perfect.

They're called match referee assessors aren't they? I'm pretty sure that's what happens at our level.
Callabinho Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 In fairness it wasn't the ref who boiled my piss at the weekend. It was that horrible, Scottish, midget ****, what an embarrassing willy puller that little **** is! Running around fist punching the air ****ing detest the cuunt.
Clearupred Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 Can I just say that I like your stadium, first time I've been and as far as soulless flat packed erections goes it seems pretty homely and impressive. You could and maybe should have been 2 up after 30 minutes but I suppose that's football. The referees performance was ok I thought apart from the rediculous penalty decision. Also this thing about rivals or non rivals, whatever the case my be. I think it seemed on Saturday with the noise and the songs that we were singing there's definitely some rivalry there. I think it's maybe the supporters who were around in the 'good old days' that have rivals such as derby and liverpool who Claim you arnt rivals. You ll never be derby but there is potential there for it to grow as the younger fans come through. Please tho, get rid of that tinpot drum your so much better than that. I'm sue can generate an atmosphere without that shit banging. It's a bloody joke especially when your getting whooped by YOUR local rivals and all it does is serve the away fans to take the piss (like we did). I know, I know we can talk with that tinpot goal music. P.S. I love having a manager that everyone else fuking hates, so funny.

I'm not too disheartened by the game tbh, performance was more than acceptable. How can you honestly say we didn't deserve to lose? I think you must have been at a different game to the rest of us. I still believe we will come back quickly though, if the players apply themselves.

I still believe we will come back quickly though, if the players apply themselves. We had more control of the ball and were able to create more and better chances than them in the first half - watch the highlights, it's absolutely indisputable that we had the better of the play in the first 45. The second half was a non-event really, we just passed it around in midfield while they sat back, very little to analyse. We only lost the game because of the difference in finishing between both sides. Had it been the other way round then people wouldn't be criticising the performance at all because we'd have won. The Birmingham game was similar, well in control but hugely unlucky to be losing to their only chance. The team were booed off at half time. I've concluded that if we're losing many fans will slate the team regardless of how dominant and unfortunate we may have been. They don't watch the game, they watch the scoreline alone.

I'm pretty sure that's what happens at our level.Unfortunately, the assessors are referees or ex-referees so they're hardly independent and possibly biased.Uriah Rennie was the assessor on Saturday
