Simmo86 Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Was expecting to come on here a see a load of overreactions but most have seen that game for what it was. Play game again and 99 times we'll win but thats football for you. Bad day at the office, put a fork in it and forget about it. Any of those early chances go in and we'd have rolled them over with ease.
Jimothy Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 I echo what most have said about us not being good enough, Forest taking their chances etc. and no the ref didn't cost us the game as a whole. But what didn't help is them still having 11 men on the pitch at half time, which could have had a huge baring on the game had they had 10. Lascelles goes through Schlupp twice, at least one worthy of a yellow, certainly the first one where Knocky was booked for complaining, and then later gets booked for kicking the ball away. That should have been his 2nd yellow and they'd have 10 men, totally changes the shape of the game. Davies obviously knew he was on tight rope, because he replaced him with Halford at half time.
Callabinho Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 We lost because of our incompetence to function in either penalty area. We missed guilt edge chances in the early stages of the game couple that with Forest's horrible approach to the game and we had beaten ourselves. Still in a good position and we now need to forget about it and move on.
Tielemans63 Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Can't blame the ref. we just never got going. Had Nuge stuck away that pen then who knows what might have happened but we looked very complacent today which is very unlike us. It was almost as if the players were thinking "we're in great form, we've just spanked Watford, we're at home - we'll get the 3 points." Then didn't do all the stuff we've been doing so well over the last 8 matches. Really curious to see how the boys respond after the international break. Hopefully they'll be fuming.

I don't know about that. 1st 20 was very good just didn't bloody score. Was never going to be easy after they score because they turned into the most negative side I've ever seen
Raj Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Ref was crap but if we took our chances none of that shit would matter
Monsell1976 Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 We moved the ball to slow, a lot sideways and backwards due to forest pressuring us when we had the ball. Our movement was poor, as was the quality of passing, just a bad day at the office. Lloyd dyer seems to have a lot of fans on here, but for me he blows hot and cold to much, today he just refused to go on the outside and beat them with his pace, and his play is so inconsistent. Schlupp look out of his depth, the kid really needs to go on loan and get some games. First bad game in a while, just a shame we couldn't back up the great win at Watford. As keeps being said after the wins, one game at a time, a bad result was due, it's just how we come out next game that matters now.

Agree with all of that, and I'll just add that I didn't think we were awful at all, thought Forest were more 'up for it' on the day... That said, I don't think Forest are a great side, they just came and basically got in our faces/kicked us all game.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 An awful game to watch, Forest were pretty bad but we were terrible. Not our day and glad to see not too many over reactions.
Dan Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 To be honest it's clear I've had too many to drink because I'm the only one it seems who didn't think the ref did anything too wrong.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 The ref didn't do much wrong tbh, we lost because we weren't clinical enough and Forest were given two diamond opportunities. Blaming the International Break curse would make more sense than the ref imo

That is what Leeds did as well, we need to learn how to deal with that tactic because I can see a fair amount of teams doing that to us at home.
Fox92 Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Ref didn't do much wrong? So was that not a foul for the second goal? He seemed to climb all over our defender...
Ricey Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 The ref wasn't that bad. It was clear he wanted the game to flow and wasn't going to be fooled by going over easily, but that didn't stop us constantly looking for free-kicks and going to ground very easily. Red aside, didn't take our chances in the first half and apart from the penalty it took us until the 77th minute to have a shot on the goal in the second half. Not good enough.
XLM Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Knockaert produced the best piece individual piece of skill I think a Leicester player has ever done in our history with that flip-flap through their player's legs.
Buce Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Knockaert produced the best piece individual piece of skill I think a Leicester player has ever done in our history with that flip-flap through their player's legs. You never saw Frankie Wortho play, I guess.
pleatout Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 The ref didn't do much wrong imo. 2 stupid yellow cars early on (Waz didn't touch their player, then Knockaert for 'dissent') but apart from that all I can criticise him for was being a bit pedantic and overly lenient towards Forest. To blame the ref for the defeat is mental. I'm glad you said that, I thought it was just me. Bit picky, but not the worst we've had or will have. Got the big decisions right.
harpendenfox Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 There are days like these even if you win the league. We weren't that bad but we lost the key moments. No need to panic. How we react in a fortnight is the thing. And I know on today all of days we respect free speech, but could we make an exception for cuddly Ken?
EnglishOxide Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Bit harsh on Dyer. If teams drop deep and leave space how is he meant to get to the byline? Taking Knockaert off was a mistake. I know he tires but we would have created a couple of chances in the second half.

From memory he had a few chances first and second half to take it outside and try and create a chance to get a cross in, but kept coming inside were it was congested.

Very hard to break down.
Dickov22 Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 The ref was fine. Crap for both sides as most refs are these days Credit to Forest- they double/tripled up on Lloyd every time he got the ball. They defended EXCEPTIONALLY. No surprise with Jack Hobbs there though to be fair. We paid for not taking our chances, we could have played all day and still wouldn't have scored. Second half, we were totally devoid of ideas going forward. I'll say it again, they defended so well. Sometimes, you have to credit the opposition. Onwards!
Basingstoke Fox Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Thought the ref favoured them with a fair few decisions but he wasn't THAT bad. It was disappointing to be 0-1 down but at that score, you always have a real chance. For it to be 0-2 going into half time was a joke and really disappointing. I thought it was unfair on us but I knew it would be very tough for us from there on in. Forest pressured well and did exactly what they had to do in the 2nd half to stop us. We had no answer to that. It's disappointing to lose to them but it hasn't annoyed me too much as they're not my local team. Also at least they didn't gain points through a controversial decision like they usually do. Let's hope that we can bounce back with a positive result at Ipswich in a couple of weeks time.
iamafox Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 For me, all of the players apart from Knocky and Moore looked like they couldn't be arsed today. We had been riding our luck in our recent home games, games in which we wasted our chances and got away with winning 2-1 so it was only a matter of time before a team made us pay, just so happened to be against the Trees. And we missed the chance to go top as well, which is disappointing.
