Bryn Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Grim commentary from Stringer for Vardy's goals Lots of composure from Vardy though.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Carlsberg don't do championship results at the weekend, but if they did.....
NewburyFox Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 They were dreadful but fair play to us, we did the job well and could've won by 6 or 7. Our attacking pace in Vardy and Dyer is frightening! Also James and Drinkwater absolutely bossed the middle yesterday. On a sidenote, did anybody else piss themselves laughing when Lloyd could've let the ball go for a corner but tried to keep it in and totally ballsed it up? Yes I did as well It was just vintage Lloyd.
foxfanazer Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Yes I did as well It was just vintage Lloyd. Exactly what I said to my cousin. You just can't be mad at him
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Exactly what I said to my cousin. You just can't be mad at him Dead right. With Lloyd, you take the rough with the smooth. And love both.
foxfanazer Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Dead right. With Lloyd, you take the rough with the smooth. And love both. Same with Knockaert as well imo. Made me laugh when the ball came to him and you could tell he was about to some skill but instead he fell over and instead of getting up and getting the ball he just casually sat there and pulled his socks up

In Knocky and Dyer, we have two players who clearly enjoy being here and give everything, every game. These type of guys are worth their weight in gold.

My favourite squad since the MoN era. I did like the squad we had when Micky Adams was here with players like Dickov and Deane but this current crop have got something a little bit special about them imo
Kitchandro Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 It's funny cos I didn't really think it was a 3-0 game. I thought we started a bit slowly, then after Dyer scored we played really well for a period but let the first half peter out. It was almost too comfortable. The second half was similar, we were dominant and had spells of really good football but we never really needed to get out of 3rd gear. Millwall were so poor, it could have easily been 1-0 or it could have been 6-0. It was just about if we felt like scoring more, or if we could finish chances (and some of the finishing was a bit dodgy in the latter quarter of the game, which is where I felt most of our shots came). Vardy took his goals well but I think it's fair to say Millwall gifted him both of them to some extent. TBH we've had several games this season where we could have had a cricket score but have ended up winning 2-1. So it's nice to put a team away with a convincing scoreline. Anyway, top of league, this is the kind of situation where we started to wobble last season so the next few games will be key.

The second one yes, but the first was was absolutely fantastic. Pace, determination and confidence. Give the boy some credit.

Give the boy some credit. They pushed up too far giving him the chance to run into acres of space and the goalkeeper should have saved what was really, a less than clinical finish. If we'd have conceded that goal you would have been livid. I did give him some credit, what part of 'Vardy took his goals well' did you not understand?

Vardy's goals weren't 'gifted' in any way shape or form. You must be watching a different game. Vardy's goals AGAIN were about one thing.. Pace... He's so quick that he completely unnerves defenders and keepers. He's done this more than once this season. You're wrong if you attribute Vardy's goals to anyone other than Vardy.
Koke Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Vardy's second goal was a howler from their defender and he took advantage of it. That was a gift. His first goal was well taken though.
rico Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 They pushed up too far????? If i remember rightly we scored from their corner?
rico Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 And wtf was that droning noise the Millwall fans tried to do? Hilarious when we kept doing it back to them and giving them jazz hands

Horrible noise
Kitchandro Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 They pushed up too far????? If i remember rightly we scored from their corner? Yep, and they weren't prepared for the break at all. It was a simple throw out from our goalkeeper to a man in our own half. He didn't even need any support. He didn't even skin anyone actually, they were already chasing him when he got over the half way line. You can't tell me if we'd have conceded that goal you wouldn't have been lambasting our defending and Kasper. It's got Watford in the play-offs written all over it. Absolute rubbish Col. Our 3rd goal was to do with the defender's header being about 5 yards too short. If he'd have headed it back better or blasted it up the pitch it wouldn't have been a goal. That's not up for debate, that is a fact. As for Vardy's first, I doubt he would have scored that against a decent defense and goalkeeper. It's not a disservice to Vardy, we all know his pace and work rate cause defences all sorts of problems, but they did not do their jobs properly for those goals. He punished their msitakes well.

Nope. As I said, it's not the first time there has been a pass-back (either by head or foot) that's been too short. Vardy's pace frightens defenders. They know that they have to get it spot on or the little scamp will be in and creating a chance for himself. This unnerves them and errors creep in. It's of no coincidence that such 'chances' fall to Vardy.
Corky Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Extremely comfortable win, could've been and probably should've been more. They were awful, set pieces aplenty yet not one produced a good chance and even set us on our way for a goal. Would've liked a few more goals, but a clean sheet is very valuable and we've taken advantage of defeats around us. We can also play better. Great to see Vardy add to his tally with some well-taken goals.

It's a bit like saying if some of them players had put a tackle in when Messi ghosts by them. And before anybody starts not making a comparison Tosh argument saying they gifted, the 1st he picked ball up in our half went by players like they were in quicksand and cooly slotted through keepers legs....great goal!

Cheers buddy. He reminds me a bit of Dickov (although Vardy is quicker, of course). Dickov scored lots of goals by harassing a centre back who would then make an error (slip, miss-time a tackle, hit a bad back pass etc). Make no mistake, this isn't coincidental.

He's like Dickov in a lot of ways. He's a total pain to defenders, doesn't give them a minutes peace. He also always plays on the edge, and may earn himself quite a few yellows as a result of late/reckless tackles. One thing he's got that Dickov didn't is pace. Both my favourite types of player though- 100%ers!
Union FS Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Superb win for the boys yesterday. Read the views of one of our contributors here on the game, the atmosphere and what we can do until May.http://filbospirit.wordpress.com/2013/12/01/time-to-turn-up-the-volume/
