crisp monster Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 After posting a while ago about the sad death of my mate and fellow season ticket holder Neil Palmer back in September I'd just like to say how chuffed I am that we've hit top spot on - what would have been his 40th birthday. He had a pub and band booked for tonight in Bedford and his family decided to still have the evening in his honour. He would have loved today / tonight and been pissing everyone off in the pub singing 'we are top the league' :-) I'll sink plenty and sing it in your honour big man!! :-) city till we die.
Devonfox1884 Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Well said, i hope he is looking down on the lads smiling tonight.
Unabomber Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Brings a tear to my eye. Glad you are celebrating his life in a way he would have wanted.
darko2k7 Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Yea I know how you feel pal . I lost my dear Grandad on Monday who was a big city fan all his life . I know he would have been loving going top today .
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 From somebody else who has recently lost someone close to them I hope you all have a great, if emotional night in his honour. Make sure you get the whole bar singing "We are top of the league" on at least 3 occasions for him tonight. From what you have wrote about him I am sure he would have done the same. My father in law was a big Arsenal fan and I am happy they have won today.
Fox92 Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Nice one man, hope it goes alright tonight to finish off a good day/result.
Fifties Blue Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Brings a tear to my eye. Glad you are celebrating his life in a way he would have wanted. Second that!

Captain... Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Never has it seemed more apt, but we are, and we all are, Leicester 'til we die. to the OP and his mate.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Good on you. I bet it was quite emotional.
crisp monster Posted 1 December 2013 Author Posted 1 December 2013 Many thanks for all the comments - very much appreciated. When he passed away the Millwall game was always at the back of my mind as he was so excited about the game and the party afterwards so the day was pretty much planned out. We won, went top and the do last night went really well ( although emotional) so I can't have wished for it to have gone any better - although I'm feeling it today!! Many thanks again :-)

Sorry about that Stan, I should have said. It was on in the forresters arms in union st - bit of a blokey sort of pub but some sound lads ( and some nutters) but always good for live sport. Me and Neil watched quite a few of our televised games in there ,if we couldn't get to the actual game - Middlesbrough on that cold Friday night being one of our best piss ups!! I'll let you know about future games as quite a few of us get down there for city matches.
