Are we 3rd?

Just had a look at the table, we are still 3rd and in an excellent position.

Win next week and we will be top again!.

Whilst losing is never nice, it is inevitable that we(and all the other teams) will suffer a loss of form

I am confident that we will beat burnley next week! Stick with the team! We've had a great season so far!

COYF

P.S yeah I'm a happy clapper, what you gonna do bout it!?

I'm not concerned yet... All teams seem to have a period when they have a dip, it is so vital we beat Burnley on Saturday, this couldn't be a better game to play. Being at home I think we will win

What if QPR win? They'll go top regardless if we win.

I think it's great that we're in 3rd and yes, at the start of the season, who would've expected that?

But after two very poor away games where we just didn't show up, after having been in the top spot for a few weeks, expectations pointed in a different direction, painted a different scenario.

As already mentioned in the Brighton Post-Match thread, it's now up to Pearson and the team to leave all this behind, learn a few lessons and make sure we don't experience another rough patch like last season.

Comes May, we'll be somewhere up there.

Sums it up nicely for me.

I'm not going to panic too much, but being 3rd in December doesn't get you promoted. The aim this season is top two but the last couple of games have cast doubt on our ability to achieve it.
All the happy-clapping / doom-mongering is a bit pointless at the moment. As I've said before, let's wait til after Christmas when we've played everybody and we should have a reasonable idea of how realistic our chances are.

I'm not in panic to much either at the minute, it's just that Sheffield Wednesday was the game we should have won considering our December fixtures are very tough. Brighton (obviously a defeat), Burnley, QPR, Reading, Bolton are all tough fixtures.

Cheers Derek Acorah

Brilliant, I laughed out loud.  I didn't know that Derek Acorah could predict the future but I do know that he claims to be able to communicate with the dead.  Hear him every week on Radio Nottingham.

To be honest I think that having Burnley at this point could help the team.

Perhaps having playing teams below us let a bit of complacency sink in, having a team above us which the players know they will have to up their game may give them the boost they need.

Either way Nige needs to step up, take control and steer us out of this. How we size up at the end of December rests on Pearson and he need to prove his worth.
