Beliall Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 keep up the gtf hate, want him to score a brace on saturday
Riot Van Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 BIgWesMorgans match ratings are always diabolically shit
Guest ttfn Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Kompany was an absolute monster for City. He is the best centre back I've seen play live. Milner excellent for them too, as was Dzeko.
VLC86 Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 If that Polish lump plays right back ever again then there is something seriously wrong Centre half maybe but right back never in a million years Rest of team simply outclassed but knew that was the case before ko but not sure you can doubt the effort they put it ? The poor bloke can barely run. We are starting to see the reason why we signed him and he didn't go to a prem team.
65RosesFox Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 How are people giving Miquel a rating lower than 7/8? Clearly I was at a different game. He was by far our best defender, his distribution was great against a top premier league team. Rarely did he 'hoof' it. If he's not for sale he'll be loaned out to a premier league team next season i'm sure. Would like to see him start against QPR.
jmono84 Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Dissapointing game in all... We gave them the win rather than being outclassed! Only think dyer deserves a 6 even with a goal, first half he was running down blind alleys all the time and looked easy to play against. The other players dint help him mind, they lacked self belief and did not play neat clever passes centrally and work the spaces for the wide men, instead on too many occasions they took the easy way out and just gave the ball to dyer to just run mindlessly. The main reason we lost tonight was because of how cheaply we gave the ball away whilst goin forward... Dint think anyone played espicially bad or good but knockaert was at fault for the first two goals so understand why he was subbed... Just wished we passed the ball around like I know we can do and made them at least go up a gear to have to beat us Oh and I thought Drinky was our best player tonight... Looks quick, energetic, good control, good passing and decisions, will be a key player for seasons to come

I'm sure Bert said in a different thread that Miquel is out of contract with Arsenal at the end of the season. Would definitely like him being signed on a permanent deal.
Winnershfox Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Thought we gave a good account of ourselves. Dyer, konch, drinky, wes and kasp could do it in the prem. Knocky with time but the rest no chance. Dyer easily mom tonite.
cjslcfc Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Kompany was an absolute monster for City. He is the best centre back I've seen play live. Milner excellent for them too, as was Dzeko. Same for me RE: Kompany. I was sat there in awe at how good he was. Positionally perfect, strong, composed, good on the ball etc... Regarding my ratings Kasper 8 - One top top save Was 4 - He just isn't a RB, get him back at CB with RDL or Moore. Morgan 5 - Dzeko had a great time against him. Was decent in patches but definitely not his best game Miquel 7 - Like how he played tonight, both defensively and on the ball Konchesky 4.5 - Not as bad as Was but very close Knocky 5 - Too many touches in the wrong part of the pitch. Still wouldn't have taken him off as he still looked a danger Drinkwater 6 - Important to how we play and played OK tonight. King 6.5 - better second half when further forward. Would like to see that midfield 3 from 2nd half start on Saturday. Dyer 8.5 - Our best player and main threat (sound familiar). Love the guy. GTF 5 - meh Nuge 5.5 - Half point more than GTF for a better work rate but did lack the service to be fair. Subs: James 7 - Looked great when he came on, much more like how he was towards the end of last season. Hopefully he can kick on from that! Vardy 6 - Work rate and energy. Posed some problems and a better link up than we had in 1st half Schlupp 6 - also a threat when he came on. Would like to see him given a chance on Sat. Thought Nige should have gone 3 in midfield. When we played that second half we were much better and got hold of the ball better. Whether that is down to City completely taking the foot of the gas or not I don't know.
foxfanazer Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Im usually a fan of yours but thats daft buddy... They didnt need to break a sweat. Whether they needed to break a sweat or not I can only judge them on what they did. Both points I made in my eyes were true. Kompany, Silva and Dzeko looked good but nobody played amazingly like people would have you believe
formidable1 Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Not too sure about the Lloyd love in. It seems to me that he has Usain Bolt's legs but with Nanny Mcphee's feet stuck on. He really does flatter to deceive when given the ball. Pacey he maybe, a skilful footballer he aint! I like Lloyd though, I think he is an honest, committed bloke in a world of charlatans. Drinky and James were the standout performers for me and if we can learn to start playing from these two and forget giving it to the " runners " first, we might start playing football again. At the risk of upsetting the happy clappers, I suspect we would be a better team on the whole without the services of Knockaert. Kasper, Miquel and PK also gave a shift.
I blame Wellens Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Lloyd did what he can do. Forgot to take the ball with him sometimes but well done. James and Drinky battled well. GTF can't blame him. He is what he is Konch as always f***ing useless. Pearson started the game wanting to stop man city playing. We were never going to be able to do that. We needed to go toe to toe with them, run around like blue arse flies. Yes we might of let in 5 in the first half instead of 2. But at least we would have had a go. Yes Knocky was poor and once again lost the ball in silly places. I just felt if he had played where GTF had played. ( just ahead of a midfield 4) and we'd played James from the start we might have had (a bit more) of a chance. Ah well nevermind would have been nice to win :-)

If he's not for sale he'll be loaned out to a premier league team next season i'm sure. Would like to see him start against QPR. I said exactly the same earlier in the thread. He was good last night and is better than Moore. I think he'll play at QPR
goose2010 Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 I felt sorry for GTF last night he was obviously put in to be an outlet ball and to hold the ball up and link the midfield to the attack but come on his first start and he is against Kompany who is the best centre half in the world in my opinion. He will be ok for us coming off the bench when we are winning and just holding the ball up. Just going to mention Vardy. What an absolute diamond you could tell how proud he was to be out there last night and the effort he put in was incredible sprinting to close the ball down constantly and giving Lescott a few problems. Imagine if it was this time last season and Vardy came on at half time against Man City he would of been booed off followed by the chants of 'you dont no what your doing'. Credit has to go to Vardy for getting his head down and training hard and to NP for sticking by him. All in all not the best performance but come on we were playing again a team that can take off Silva and bring on Nasri there starting line up was worth 157 million ours probably isnt worth as much as their weeks wage.
Silverdaz Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 I must have been watching a different match, Nugent did not work his socks off. I watched him closely and he only closed down when he really had to and then it was half-hearted. He'll chase the rare lost cause and everyone then bangs on about his work rate. Tonight he was up top on his own and he needed to be active, but he was too static for my liking (granted the service wasn't great). Schmeichel 8 Wasilewski 4 - Poor marking again, just like Brighton, and put us under pressure with some odd passes. Morgan 5 - Wish he wouldn't charge out of the back line so much. Takes partial blame for the 3rd. Miquel 5 - Decent in the air and with the ball, but defensively poor. Reminds me of Michael Keane. Konchesky 6 - A bit shaky, but did ok. Knockaert 5 - Hit and miss as ever, but at 2-0 down idiotic to take him off again. Drinkwater 7 - Worked his arse off and won the ball countless times. King 6.5 - Much better from him but should have done better with the two chances he had. Dyer 7 - Caused trouble all game, but wish he'd gone at Boyata more when was on a yellow. GTF 4 - I can see the logic of him starting, but he was pretty crap. Nugent 4 - Didn't do anything. I've literally given up on him now, he needs dropping. Subs James 6 - Did well in the middle. Should have started with three in the middle. Vardy 6 - Worked hard but totally out muscled almost every time. Schlupp 6 - Wish he'd chased a bit more, especially as he had fresh legs So your criticising Nugent for not working his socks off (which he did), then you moan about Schlupp not chasing a bit more

I agree with you there about time we started games without Knockaert too much of a liabilty for me IMO
MrSpaM Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Drinkwater 7 - Poor first half but made up for it in the second Feel free to disagree with me Completely disagree with this, the third goal was completely his fault, and he was dreadful throughout, he deserves no more than a 3 imo
svensson Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Completely disagree with this, the third goal was completely his fault, and he was dreadful throughout, he deserves no more than a 3 imo Erm surely the lack of marking Dzeko was a big factor??
MrSpaM Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Erm surely the lack of marking Dzeko was a big factor?? And the fact that Drinkwater was marking thin air as opposed to the player he should have been marking, who was free to put the cross in that led to the goal being scored. Did you not see 3-4 players start having a go at him when it hit the back of the net? Kasper nearly lamped him!
Manny2802 Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Kasper 9 worldie save from Dzeko early on Wasilewski 4 Tried hard, that's it Miquel 8 Thought he played really well. He's a better player than Moore. Hope he starts at QPR Morgan 7 Battled Konch 6 Did ok Knockaert 4 Sublime bits of skill at times but cost us 2 goals Drinkwater 7 Did well second half King 7 As above Dyer 8 Deserved his goal. Weird to see him unable to outpace players! Nugent 4 Poor. Body language is terrible too, don't know what's wrong with him GTF 2 Oh dear James looked classy when he came on. really I thought Miquel was shocking marking for 2nd and 3rd goals were non existant and not a better player than Moore from what I have seen this season
Dickov22 Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 really I thought Miquel was shocking marking for 2nd and 3rd goals were non existant and not a better player than Moore from what I have seen this season Are you for real? Their second goal was pure class- quick counter attack, ball handed on a plate to Dzeko by Milner. Nothing Miquel could do about it! Third goal was terrible defending by Drinkwater who completely switched off. As a centre half, you can do your job but you can't and shouldn't have to account for your team mate doing something so stupid. Miquel is good on the ball, good in the air and reads the game well. I've only seen him play poorly once at Sheffield Wednesday. Other than that, I've been impressed. I think he'll play at QPR
Corky Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Schmeichel- 8 (Brilliant save with his knackers from Dzeko, a few camera stops as well) Wasilewski- 4 (Not a right back, totally outplayed) Morgan- 5 (Struggled with Dzeko) Miquel- 7 (Looked very good on the ball, one positive from the defence) Konchesky- 5 Knockaert- 5 Drinkwater- 5 King- 6 (Had our first effort, great ball in the build up to the goal, could've got stuck in more) Dyer- 7 (Scored and his pace worried them, forced two bookings) Nugent- 4 GTF- 4 (Not a starter and no impact whatsoever) Subs- All 7 (Each one contributed more than those they replaced, James showed some neat touches and Schlupp made a couple of threatening runs)
dynamark Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 James Yes looked very tidy at that level impressive even. Was is decent just a little bit short of pace but they knew they had us down the left. Nugent was out of his depth no future with us and Vardy great effort but never going to make that level.Decent players but isolated from each other. Jeff I thought was interesting not overawed and bouncing off tackles close to being an excellent player needs time on the field would give him more time.everyone can learn a lot from last night good and bad
