Renart Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 The Glory Days? Are we not living them right now? nostalgia is a wonderful thing but if we get promoted (a big if) then NP will have taken us to 2 promotions and then who knows? I might be looking back in 20 years thinking about a horribly wet and windy New Year's Day at The New Den and thinking about a team with real character (and ignoring the countless chances that Millwall had to get back in it - nostalgia does that to you) and saying to my mates that I knew we were at the beginning of something special. It really is starting to feel like we have a 'team' in the sense of the word that is used about the MON days. Who knows...there are players in this team that I am actually starting to care about in the same way I did that team from the 90s. Exciting future. I hope so!
Jakemoore Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 As much as I am unsure we could ever be that successful again, I have to say, the team spirit in our squad at the moment isn't totally dis-similar to that of the glory days! I love the way the team celebrate as a whole! It's great to see!
Collymore Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Sorry if this has been already posted but I couldn't find this with a quick search and the video was only uploaded last month. What a great video for those who remember our League Cup finals! Some great footage in it that I thought was lost in the inaccessible archives. This has put me in such a good mood and I'm ready for Monday morning!

I love the way the team celebrate as a whole! It's great to see! Quite agree. Also pretty surprised by so much negativity in this thread as recently as late December. Given the humiliations that Man C have handed out to Prem sides in both cups since we played then, presumably we take our Cup exit a bit less hard? If the 'whimper' was the issue, MON was pretty single minded-you can be damn sure that while the XI he picked would have given their all, he wouldn't have had his best team out for League Cup if he was going for promotion after a glut of Christmas fixtures. There's nostalgia, and there's delusion, and if you think we'd have been any different under MON in these circumstances then I'm afraid it's the latter...

cityfanlee23 Posted 20 January 2014 Author Posted 20 January 2014 I think we are starting to see that passion and desire now that we have lacked for about 10 years, With passion and "Die for 3 points" attitude, you can be 2nd best week in week out but you'll always get something, The fact we have immense quality and knowledge beaming through the side is why we are where we are! Here is to hoping!
