LMA Performance of the Week

[AKCJ]

Congratulations to the team and to Nigel in particular.

Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship has earned City the League Manager’s Association’s Performance of the Week Award.

The LMA’s five-man panel, comprising Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that the Foxes’ impressive showing at Loftus Road – where they became the first visiting side to register a league win this season – was the pick of the week’s displays across English football’s top four divisions.

Manager Nigel Pearson will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to commemorate the award ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Reading at King Power Stadium.

Leicester’s win was clinched by Jamie Vardy’s fine goal from an acute angle shortly before half-time.

After the match, Pearson was delighted with the result: "We did well, and it was needed. Results haven’t gone the way that we would have liked of late.

“It was always going to be important to get something out of the game, so to get away from here with three points is a very good return.â€

It was an excellent result earning a well-deserved award.

This'll do in lieu of a Manager of the Month award to derail our season I suppose.

[StanSP]

Can't really argue with that.

We had a plan and stuck to it. Job done.

[rico]

Still not good enough for some of our fans, even Fergie thought he deserved it

[Beliall]

oh dear. pearsons kryptonite.

[city60]

We rode our luck at times but got the win. Confidence instantly restored now, so onwards and upwards we go

[Hungry Hungry Fox]

Perfect away performance and the panel obviously agree

[Russell sprout]

Glad pearsons finally got some credit,it's usually down to the players when we win and pearsons fault when we lose to most folk,

Well done nige,in you we trust.

[foxfanazer]

Well deserved! Just proves we have no one to fear in this league.

[Harry - LCFC]

Actually thought we weren't that great in the first half. Fortunate to be leading at half time IMO.

[Dan]

Best defensive display since Pearson's return in my opinion.

[Yojoe36]

So we'll be shit on Thursday then?

That's the making of a good team,

Schemicheal and the defence were excellent for us,

We don't give ourselves enough credit,

We are a good team on our day and I'm positive we'll get promoted.

This is true. Really pleased with our ability to stay in tough games or turn it around when it's going badly this season. Second half was excellent, really impressed by everyone, just a bit less sure about the first.

[Hungry Hungry Fox]

The work ethic throughout the team was a pleasure to see

[Hungry Hungry Fox]

I'm guessing the fact that we were the first team to beat QPR at home in the league also played a part in their decision

[Fox92]

Nice. Think it's deserved. We had to soak up a fair bit, but got the one important goal. Job well done, great result. Congrats to Nige and the lads.
