beckford reception sunday

Peterborough away when he couldn't be arsed to get up front for a free kick in the dying minutes.... he can fook right off.

Yeah, after being the only one at was arsed to sprint 90 yards back to defend...

Let's not forget that the situation was made worse by many moaning after hearing what Alan Young had said and took it as gospel.

ffs one 90 sprint doesnt excuse several games with no effort.

Iain hume chased everything. Got lobbed out on the wing and I'll find you plenty on here who slag him off for trying to correct what they see as his own mistakes in the 1st place.

now he couldnt win so beckford has no chance. Lazy fecker.

Basically this

I can't believe people are still trying to excuse that.

And for the record it was a free kick, not a corner. And it was lamentably wasted by Drinkwater anyway.

Free kick same difference, it really wasn't that big a deal, and it wasn't a terrible attitude just a poor decision at the wrong time. I don't believe at any point he didn't try his best, it was just his best wasn't good enough and his style of play isn't one that sits well with Leicester fans.

So much of what was said about his attitude was bollocks, I didn't like him when he was here and was glad when he left, but the myth and the reality are 2 very different things.

So many people had it in for Beckford before he's even played a game, typical of Leicester fans mainly morons on here who don't go to games scapegoating because of other people's opinions on him.

Bollocks.

Read the thread from when he first signed. One or two dissenting voices at most. And I remember this because I was one of them and getting shouted down.

The only player I have been genuinely disappointed we signed.

I stuck up for Beckford before the match but after he scored that goal I couldn't help but think ****

I just thought 'typical, should have put some money on it.'

That one incident was the straw that broke the camel's back. His attitude on the pitch was absolutely crap. I don't know how many times I need to trot this out but he was subbed SIX times at half time or earlier in 18 months. In order for that to be the case you've either got to be monumentally shit or simply not applying yourself in the manner that the manager(s) (because I think these early replacements came under three different bosses) expect. The latter smacks of a poor attitude.

Once replaced at half time? Fair enough, you had a bad day? Twice? Ok maybe one bad day and once the scapegoat. But SIX?!

if thats aimed at me I think you may have your facts wrong. I have seen a few games in the last 25 years.

I've witnessed a lot of down right shit. Some pretty decent, some play above their ability, some grafters with no talent and a few with a bit of talent but no ****ing effort.

have a stab in the dark were beckford falls.

maybe our style didnt suit him. But sven got **** all out of him, pearson either couldnt or didnt want to. Moyes got a 3 million profit for everton. Not a lot else. Freedman has struggled to get a tune as well. Leeds did ok. Oh yeah l1. His level maybe?

Let's not forget that there are more LCFC fans than just on Foxestalk. (Yes I know I said mainly on here)

Wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, hence the word morons.

But if we're talking about getting facts right, Beckford didn't cost us £3m.

For me he could've been good for us, but he was badly scapegoated. Got slated to the hills when he was crap but didn't get fair praise when he did well for us. People will argue that that wasn't many games but like I've said that's because people had something against him.

Quite agree. Beckford is one of those players who you either play to their strength (through balls played on the deck into channels) or not at all. Now I agree it is a bit of a luxury to accommodate him if your squad isn't designed to play that way but it's not as if he came claiming to be able to play all manner of roles, everyone and their uncle knows what you are getting with him.

I have nothing against anyone who pulls on the blue shirt.

I can form my own opinion.

I will credit him For the game against the fword.

but please tell me what else he did. When did he shine/stand out.

for me the bad hugely outweighed any flashes of good.

bad fit maybe but bar leeds l1 season really cant say he's done much.

He scored 15 goals in less than one full season. Not one of our players really set the world alight apart from Kasper that season (as the league table stated).

That was one less goal scored than our top scorer that season.

Some people have really high standards when 15 goals a season isn't good enough.

People have a lot of false perceptions about Jermaine. Many people who know him say what a nice guy he is, he clapped our fans yesterday maybe as a late goodbye, there has certainly been players with less desire and passion play for Leicester. After all Pearson stuck with him for 6 months when in the mean time he'd carted several others out.

http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/80347-beckford/page-6

Page 6 onwards shows Beckford getting plenty of deserved praise when he was in the one good bit of form he was in whilst at the club (I think it was Blackpool away.

Your point about FT not necessarily being reflective of the fan base as a whole is duly noted, but it's a pretty extensive sample and the only readily available info.

15 goals in all competitions is really nothing to crow about. Even when we were really, really shit Hume scored 14 one season (13 in the league).

Oh yeah.

I was a fan. IMO he just didn't get a fair crack from a lot of our fans.

I didnt have a problem until west ham away. For me that was enough.

I was asked to show his contribution. And did. He was one behind Nugent. Must say a lot for the rest of the team that season.

As you he said it's the only player you've been disappointed we've signed - so it's pretty clear that you're going to try and find every possible negative you can do.

No reasoning with some

For me it was because he was shit, not an attitude problem, just the fact his first touch would bounce further away from him than he could pass it.

I saw a player trying and nothing coming off and was being subbed because he was shit.
