Mark_w Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 I bet he clapped to our fans sarcastically. The evil bastard, didn't he realize we were booing him sarcastically?
cc_star Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I'm far from a Beckford fan, as my comments during his time here would show. Felt the booing was classless though He should have been met with apathy and indifference, just the way he played for us in many of his games. Mills on the other hand, got an easy ride considering everything that went on.
Corky Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Mills did the work for us, an own goal and being beaten by Anonymous Andy in the air for the fifth goal.
foxfanazer Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Scored a goal (gifted to him) but he was soooo lazy! Vardy puts players like him to shame
Dickov22 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I booed him. He didn't try for us, and also tried to engineer a move away from the club behind Pearson's back on transfer deadline day. He's a real bad apple. To suggest the booing is the reason he scored is ridiculous. It's his job to score goals. He took his goal well but Moore practically gifted it to him. I'm also not offended in the slightest by his celebration. He can do what he likes. Didn't like the way he lingered on the pitch at the end of the match. The applause wasn't for you Jermaine, it was for our lads who gave EVERYTHING. Something he will never do for any team.
LCCFox96 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I thought we were harsh on beckford. As much as he is a petulant git and unenthusiastic his intention to move on from his time at leicester was clear by the way he applauded our fans at the start. Whilst I booed him once or twice in the opening five mins and when the line up were read out I'm not sure he fully deserved all the songs etc. then people expect him not to celebrate...we know him well enough that he is sarcastic and arrogant then the minimum anyone could expect was a full celebration. I don't think he would of done that had we remained indifferent. Regardless it's time to move on from unsavoury characters like beckford - and mills - by treating them with indifference as someone mentioned above.
Dan Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Booed both him and Mills. Both nobheads (moreso Mills in my opinion). Glad he celebrated. It'd have been almost comical if he didn't.
Vlad the Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Bloke on radio complaining about Beckford celebrating.... He just punched the air and the amount of stick the crowd gave him I'm surprised he didn't curse at us. Thought he handled it well to be fair I hate this latest trend of players not celebrating against ex clubs, they've just scored so celebrate, it never bothered fans in the past. It's not as if it's players who spent a long period of time at a particular club or scoring against their boyhood club, it's players who spent six months on loan somewhere, or a season or two now. As long as they aren't giving the willy puller sign what's the problem?
Paulmot Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Still looked Lazy. I think all players should celebrate scoring against an old club. There are always exceptions but that should be up to the player. As Will I Am and Brittany said scream and shout and let it all out. We have improved as a team, but have they as individual players I would suggest not.

As long as they aren't giving the willy puller sign what's the problem? Agree with this. It's absolute cringe when players refuse to celebrate against a team they played for for about 5 minutes or so. If someone like Andy king scored against us fair enough, I wouldn't expect him to celebrate. No issue with Beckford celebrating. It's become a real bug bearer of mine in recent seasons. Happens all the time and its ridiculous. Example when Ben Marshall refused to celebrate a goal agains Sheff Weds- a team he played for on loan! Pathetic
Foxes1 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 We were not harsh on Beckford, he didn't look interested whilst he was here, Mills was basically crap whilst he was here. At least Jay Spearing and Mark Davies got a deserved round of applause.
Captain... Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 The Peterborough incident makes me laugh, he chased back and won the ball and prevented them getting a goal on the counter, we went down the other end and won a corner, instead of waiting for him to come up for the corner we should have just taken it, we were running out of time, it only looked bad because we were waiting for him, rather than getting on with the game. He wasn't shit, and there is no evidence of a bad attitude, he didn't get drummed out like Mills, and NP started his first full season with Beckford ahead of Nugent, that wouldn't have been the case if he had a bad attitude or was a bad influence, he would have been sold like Mills, or dropped like Danns. Just because he doesn't run around chasing people down as much as Nugent or Vardy and doesn't throw himself at everything without regard for his own safety, doesn't mean he has a bad attitude. My only problem with him was he wasn't worth the money we were paying for him. He didn't deserve booing and we knew it would motivate him to score, so why do it, and why boo him more than Mills? As for not celebrating against old clubs, I think it is not over celebrating, Frazier Campbell scored against Sunderland, he celebrated just didn't go mental out of a sign of respect, shows class to me.
Danno Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Just had a look on the tunnel cam for the end of the game yesterday, and it shows Pearson hugging our players and high fives and all that, shakes M.Davies' hand and Spearing's, then him and Beckford completely blank each other. You also get to see GTF without a shirt. Good stuff.
Dan Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I wouldn't even moan if King celebrated when scoring against us. If we're so offended by King celebrating then we should defend better.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 The evil bastard, didn't he realize we were booing him sarcastically? So you are one of our "Boo Boys"? Why am I not surprised?
EnderbyFox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6IMzVFx_0k Looks like Pearson shakes both Beckford and Mills hand?
Tom17LCFC Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Yeah I'm fairly certain you hear Pearson say something along the lines of 'well played Beckford' as well.
Dan Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 That first Bolton player is Ryan Hall I believe. I thought it was Beckford too at first. Then he shakes the hand of another who I thought was Mills and then someone with a bigger beard walks down (number 5) and they ignore each other? They're playing tricks on us
Dan Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Yep he does shake Mills' hand. He's number 4. It's Ream that's number 5. Looks like Pearson was looking out for all four of those who've played under him. Interesting, that.

Garbage. He'd sprinted half the length of the pitch-so he needed a little rest?? Not having it. The reason the players were waiting for him, was he was the highest paid member of the team, with his main job of sticking the ball in the net. I think its fair to say, when here he was the best finisher at the club, which is why you want him in the opposition box, not on the halfway line.
Bayfox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Lets have it right. he didnt set the fee or the wage. players say he was a decent guy. Kingy semms to love him. however he was lazy. Didnt even score goals like the yak!! However he did get 3 against them. And thats 2 more than tommy wright. but yesterday he scored. Did **** all else. Celebrated like it meant the world and I'm sure he really wanted to beat us. but for me the incident at posh. For those defending him. Oh dear bless him he'd chased back once (something hume gets slagged for) when we were losing we had a free kick on half way that kasper was taking. Gtf in the box. that coupled with his attitude at wet spam away after sven got sacked was the final straw when steve howard shows you up then **** me your bang average. Stowell shoulr have nutted him in the way off.

Basically this I can't believe people are still trying to excuse that. And for the record it was a free kick, not a corner. And it was lamentably wasted by Drinkwater anyway.
Mark_w Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 So you are one of our "Boo Boys"? Why am I not surprised? Want to read through the thread and say sorry?
Out Foxed Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 interesting knocky comes back to see beckford.
