I don't know if it was my age, or indeed my more cynical outlook on life now I'm older, or the fact we'd just come down, but for some reason I had confidence we were going up from The win at Watford throughout that season, at no point did I think we were going to do anything other than go up. This season I'm nervous as anything we're going to chuck it away and finish in the play offs again.

Harry - LCFC Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Don't see a repeat of the collapse we had last season occurring again. We're mentally stronger - resilience has been a word that's been repeated a lot this season. It won't happen, at least not on the scale it did before. Fully expect a very strong challenge for automatic promotion as a minimum.
Guest shearfox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 If there was any chance of a big blip it would have happened after losing to Wednesday then Brighton, and had Burnley, QPR, Reading and Bolton to play... but we showed our quality and got 10 points... the experience brought into the team has really helped.

You carnt base everything on last season, Your surely using a stat by being worried what could happen again,in the same way the other poster is being more optimistic that we could repeat what happened when in this position last time we got promoted, Let's enjoy how we're doing and be more optimistic than pessimistic.

Well said mate:) some people are so negative why don't people just enjoy it?! I for one have enjoyed all the home matches this season even when we have been frustrated in some, some of the football has been fantastic to watch:-) promotion or not it's been a great 1st half to the season & fully enjoying watching us play The way we are UTF

Remember going to Bramall Lane around April time, Deane scored in the first five minutes, but we ended up losing and Sheffield United looked like they were catching us. Good season that though, my first season where I was a regular. Deane and Dickov was a terrific partneship and Adams did a great job.

Remember going Rotherham needing a win to take us up and drawing. Benjamin nearly scored a second aswell ... That would had been a great story.

We had a blip last season which we came out of. It was the second one that killed us. We could still fall apart. Things look fine at the moment but they could all go wrong so quickly. If we have any injuries, for example.
tylesta Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 it's more of a case of taking each game one at a time. we could of been out of sight of burnley, qpr and derby with the 4 hard games over tge xmas period but we pulled it back. i know it's exiting being in the postion we are in but some of us get far to ahead and when we go on a bad run people end up moaning. im not looking any further than our first game of 2014 against millwall
