Babylon Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 There is a reason why the debt has been cleared just before the transfer window opens rather than waiting till the end of the season I think you may end up disappointed. If we are that far under FFP (this seasons and next), then we could quite easily sort out contracts for our better players. That's not happening according to reports, so I don't see how we can be. There are a few reasons I can think of for this, but none fit in with us having loads of money to spend.
Isle of Wight Fox 86 Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 Fail to see how he can sign anyone with less than 6 months of his, Kasper's and Nuge's contract remaining to name only 3 players (others aren't necessarily key players). Normally I'd say early business but these contracts need tying up sharpish! If contracts are sorted I'd expect to see a winger and a striker and possibly a third but depends what's out there to add strength. Would you not say that Morgan isn't a key player then?
mkaiser1 Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 Of course he is, just missed him off the list Sky sports: Reports in France say that Leicester City are interested in signing Le Havre winger Riyad Mahrez. The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is rumoured to have attracted attention from elsewhere, but speculation suggests that Leicester have already made an offer and could be set to bring him in on a three-and-a-half- year deal.

trotterfox87 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 I'd like to see Pearson's contract being renewed then dyer, Morgan, kasher, nugent etc having their contracts renewed. I don't know where that leaves us regards being within the new ffp rules. Think we may have to shift a few to sign a few (danns, Gallagher, st ledger etc) Although clearing the debt should free up a bit through not paying interest.

Im not convinced its worth us renewing contracts at this stage, if we remain in this division we can get better value for the wages and if we go up we can replace them with better.
katieakita Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Sure they are already speaking to Nigel and those he wants to keep. We cannot have it boths ways we moan about FFP and wages then want contracts all done and dusted. If we want to keep NP and co they are aware the closer we get to promotion the better deal they can get so it is in their interest to perform. Do not think anyone doing a decent job on the playing side can moan about their present contracts and the next few months will dictate what is offered to them to stay. Think the team spirit says alot and do not want to see us held to ransom and pay over the odds for the panic buys prior to NP.s return.
VLC86 Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Thought this was another thread about Pearsons daughter

And that's the logic that could see our season derailed by key players leaving. No easy way to sort it other than numerous clauses/incentives in their contracts if they did sign a new one now

Don't listen to media speculation, the best way they can maximise a good deal is promotion as champions.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Shane Long?? We have nay chance unless somebody knows something
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Have a good hard look at that moose. Why does it have sex-offender eyes, and a camel-toe for a nose? On topic, I think one permanent and one loan sounds about right, with one or two going out in the same way. I think they'll be the usual Pearson-type signings which at first might seem underwhelming, then after a few games you realise exactly why they're here.
MGLCFC Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I think you'll find a camel toe has only two hoofs!!!!
sylofox Posted 2 January 2014 Author Posted 2 January 2014 Shane Long, 8th January. Was told yesterday spurs are looking at him. Really don't know why they would want him.
sylofox Posted 6 January 2014 Author Posted 6 January 2014 riyad Mahrez 6th January 6:22 You know something or winding up
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Shane Long, 8th January. To be honest, my gut instinct says "What a stupid call, not a chance." My heart says "Get him in now!" My logic says "Newcastle, stoke and hull are interested with reports that spurs have been previously interested, Bye shane" All In all, I think he's too good to drop down to the championship in the hope we go up to the prem, He's on wages far too high for us surely? but I'd love to see him here, just cannot see it happening. You know something or winding up We will have to wait and see...
Rushden fox Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Just wanted to change the topic...I'm bored of transfer deadline day...isn't this boy as our first signing doing well...
sylofox Posted 31 January 2014 Author Posted 31 January 2014 Just wanted to change the topic...I'm bored of transfer deadline day...isn't this boy as our first signing doing well... Must be easy for him we have knocky for the lingo And walking into a team as we are atm in form top of the league has to be easy. Not like going to a team fighting for survival and the pressure is on you from the second you sign. Yeah he needs to put in a good shift but if we were bottom we would expect him to change/win games.

Agreed and we should get the best out of him moving forward as he should settle nicely, in time for the prem.
sylofox Posted 31 January 2014 Author Posted 31 January 2014 Hope in one way he gets a few games for us this season. But that would mean an injury or sudden loss of form for knocky/dyer. But one thing is for sure it's going to be a massive summer for him if he wants games nxt season.
