Danns will definitely go this window too. That's got to be about 30-5k off the wage bill.
MGLCFC Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I don't think we need to move players on, but this may well happen. Danns will go back to Bolton on loan til end of season, then can sign on a free, Gallagher already gone to Preston, Whitbread will be shipped out elsewhere as too St. Ledger, just to get match fit or injured again. Waghorn may well be part of a deal to bring in another striker. Bakayogo and Schlupp may well go out on loan as well. That leaves room for a few to come in. Think we will see a winger (Mahrez is looking a strong possibility) come in and a striker. Hope it's Wickham or Guidetti, even if it's only a loan. Also Becchio would do a very good job, provided he got the right sort of service. My only concern with the likes of Becchio is that we revert to a long ball game and we all saw how dire we were at Derby last year when we reverted to those tactics.

Rob1742 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Difficult window this one. 1. He will want to keep his current squad together. This is the most important thing. 2. If he buys, can he afford to buy the quality we will need should we progress to the premier league. Buying quality might be bad for us with regards to FFP should we not go up. 3. Will players whose contracts expire in June look to push for new contracts or look for a move. Due to many being out of contract and our league position this could well be a very difficult window. I personally think we might pick up a major signing if the player is currently in our league and looking to progress. As in give him 8k per week and 16k per week if we go up. This type of signing though would need to be a player currently on lower wages as nobody currently earning well would take the risk. Next years replacement for Nugent I am thinking here

I did hear that there's a big cloud over his future because of his tempestuous nature, though there's no need to get the wind up as it might all blow over. Schluup, St Ledge, Whitbread out on loan Danns and Waggy to go out in perm deals. Would like to see players like Hopper and Cain go out on loan and get some experience.

How much though may depend on some going Waggy Danns and praps one or two on loan.
mkaiser1 Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 Fail to see how he can sign anyone with less than 6 months of his, Kasper's and Nuge's contract remaining to name only 3 players (others aren't necessarily key players). Normally I'd say early business but these contracts need tying up sharpish! If contracts are sorted I'd expect to see a winger and a striker and possibly a third but depends what's out there to add strength.
