Soar Fox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 I didn't know in Serie A, clubs can nane upto 22 subs.
Dan Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Whilst not serie a I'm a staunch follower of ac siena. For one, I've been there, two the ground looks like they've just borrowed stands from wherever they could be found and lastly because the first game I watched the manager was sent off and because the tunnel was on the other side of the pitch from the benches had to walk across the middle of the pitch to dogs abuse from the home fans but replied by giving the finger to three sides of the ground. Can't help but admire that peculiarly italian style of not giving a ****. Siena. AKA, little Juventus
21st Century Fox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Back when Paolo was pioneering the fascist-hipster look... There wasn't much else cooler in the 90's than the Fiorentina Nintendo kit. I'm sure they had a massive banner on the Curva Fiesole of Super Mario wearing a Fiorentina kit and Super Mario would pop up on the scoreboard. Baggio, Appiah and Pep at Brescia (Early 00's rather than 90's I think).
MC Prussian Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 "Il Don" - before the match-fixing scandal would tarnish his image forever. Igor Kolyvanov (my random Russian former Serie A player for today) The real cookie monster
The Blur Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 I can also remember a time when the sound of Tiziano Crudeli's voice didn't want to make you put your fist through the TV.... Also the first time they interviewed Christian Vieri on Football Italia and he spoke with an Aussie accent was ****ing brilliant. The fourth picture, the Inter Milan player on the far right really look like Bosingwa!
21st Century Fox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 The fourth picture, the Inter Milan player on the far right really look like Bosingwa! Yeah Giuseppe Bergomi. It'll be the Jim Henson Company eyebrows
Haydos Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Some class photos in this thread good stuff. Maldini, Nesta, Buffon, Baggio, Crespo, Shevchenko, Nedved to name a few. So many good players.
lavrentis Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Trust you to pick the fascists. I do know they have that element but it's not why I like them When I went to Greece last year I met a massive socialist (who'm we actually discussed the EU ) and he was telling me about how he liked Hellas Verona which I thought was odd TBH though, this season i'm more into Juve with their 3-5-2 and their sexy Black alternate kit
bovril Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 I remember when Mancini went back to Italy after his loan spell with us. James Richardson asked him if he had learned anything from his time in England and Roberto deadpanned "no, me duck". I'd love to see that clip again.
Haydos Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Hidetoshi Nakata. Yurrrr, and Batigol obviously. ENRICO CHIESA!
Uncle Albert Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Can anyone change the title of this thread to just 90s Football Pictures?
The Blur Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Can anyone change the title of this thread to just 90s Football Pictures? Just so you can upload Ian Rush et al pictures-No. There was a very good feature on how Van Basten,Guillt and Rijkaard influenced AC Milan on Four Four Two few months ago. A worthwhile read.
Darkon84 Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Noooo. It's got to be kept strictly to Italian football surely? So many memories from then. I still occasionally search to see if I can get hold of one of those Fiorentina Nintendo kits

21st Century Fox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Hidetoshi Nakata. I was about to post a picture in the next lot... I also found an entire episode of Gazzetta Football on Youtube.... almost tearjerking I really, really wish I could find the Baggio interview where the first question James Richardson asked him was "How's your bottom?" (that possible got lost in translation or he didn't get the joke) and Baggio just gave him a look of confusion/mild disgust/shock/amusement and Jimbo has to quickly explain that it was a joke because he's been sat on the bench for ages (it may have been when Capello dropped him at Milan).
Finnegan Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 **** off,Parma kit Hide please! I tried but my phone is whack.
Finnegan Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Hero. Actually responsible for my obsession with Japan, I think.
21st Century Fox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 **** me there were some terrible kits generally in the 90's but there were some exceptionally bad ones in Serie A. What was it about the 90's and shirts that looked like skydiving wingsuits!!? I've got a box of random 90's Italian shirts that my mum used to get me whenever she went over or my cousins came over here, there are some absolute doozies in there. I don't think many can beat the Inter third kit for vulgarity though. It looks like a smackhead designed it and I now cringe at how often I would wear it. I have a terrible, terrible feeling I once wore it to a school disco.... oh the shame
