United boss David Moyes is looking for a keeper to compete with David de Gea for the No.1 spot, with current back-up Anders Lindegaard expected to leave the Premier League champions in the summer. Sources in Italy have also confirmed that Schmeichel, 27 (below) has impressed Milan, while he was even linked with Real Madrid last season. Foxes boss Nigel Pearson said: “We are aware of the rumours about clubs looking at Kasper – but we have heard nothing official.†Leicester have a number of contract issues to address in the summer, including Pearson’s. Which division they are in will be a major factor in determining the outcome of those contract situations.
Hollism Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 He's a United fan- he'll end up there one day, and I'd have thought that he'll want to be at whichever club can get him to United quickest. You'd have thought that he'd have a much better chance of impressing Moyes in goal of a bottom half Premier League club (us, if we go up), than on the bench of AC Milan. If United want him now, then he's good as gone. Fair play to him though. We're the club he has served for longest, and he deserves to be in the Premier League as much as anyone else in the squad.
StanSP Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 I think he's gone regardless of if we get promoted. He says he wants to play in the Premier League and he'll definitely get his wish in the summer. I'll be genuinely stunned if he extends his contract with us.
KFS Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 He'd be number one here, I think he may sign a one year deal if we go up.
nealsimbo Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 Still dont think he is good enough for man utd, there are a lot better keepers about.
Foxes Blue Blood Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 I think we have a good chance of keeping him now, I think it depends on the offer we make to him but I expect a clause saying if we get relegated he would be allowed to leave also if an offer of £?,000,000 is received then his choice to go or stay.
TJB-fox Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 Im convinced he'll stay if we go up. People saying he's a united fan desperate to join them etc but kaspers a very down to earth professional man, who loves playing football. He's not stupid he knows he'd possibly be number 2 there, so its down to whether he thinks he can dislodge de gea
Stuliasz Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 I don't believe for a minute that Man Utd or AC Milan are actually interested in Kasper. Seems like typical agent BS to drum up a non-story and get him a more lucrative contract with us when he eventually gets one.
Beliall Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 he must stay surely, why go and be number 2 anywhere?
Corky Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 He's guaranteed first team football here and he strikes me as the kind who wants to play (see dropping into League 2 with Notts County). Reckon that if we do go up we'll get a season out of him.

Think you're missing the point with the Milan link. He'd be going to there to be first choice. Abbiati is 37 and they want Kasper to fill the void. Plus, Milan aren't able to attract the world-class players they used to so for them he'd be an ideal signing. Really don't know whether he'll be here or not in the summer. He's as important player to keep hold of as there is not so much because of his ability (although I do think he is a top keeper) but more because of the importance of stability in the defence if we do go up. Time shall tell but I wouldn't begrudge him if he was to move on.
Mack Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 IF we get promoted my guess would be a new deal with us with clauses built in on offers over a certain amount etc.
ousefox Posted 2 February 2014 Posted 2 February 2014 Didn't realise he was 27, although still young for a keeper, I wonder how much he can improve. Not certain he could ever get to United quality.
