Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 6 February 2014 Posted 6 February 2014 It gets better. You must be proud to have erudite and learned supporters such as this. One thing I don't think you'll find on WFC Forums is utter, utter moronic garbage like this. I disagree lol
Russell sprout Posted 6 February 2014 Posted 6 February 2014 Well I think I should so we'll have to disagree. There. PS The play-off was also on Sky, on a Thursday evening IIRC with no trains back, at about 3 days notice. You couldn't even sell out 3 stands what you have,I remember seing empty seats in the stand where we were sat in what was your biggest game of the season, you fan base is a joke and don't deserve top flight football
Leicester Lass Posted 6 February 2014 Posted 6 February 2014 There will be around 1100 Watford on Saturday. @WatfordPolFooty: Latest #watfordfc Ticket sales:- Leicester - 640
Sykes999 Posted 6 February 2014 Author Posted 6 February 2014 You didn't sell out at Vicarage Road, which, given it's a really easy journey, is not that great. There will be around 1100 Watford on Saturday - we've had a lot of away games recently, piggy banks are a little empty. and £32 is a bit eye watering - only Ipswich and Leeds charge that much. Ours was on sky at 12.15.. yours is at 3 oclock on a sat, no excuses
MattGamble92 Posted 6 February 2014 Posted 6 February 2014 Have away followings become really bad in the championship or have they always been like this? I might be wrong but 8-10 years ago im sure there were quite a few teams who would sell the 3,200 or so allocation or at least bring good figures. Now it seems there are only 4 or 5 who will bring over 1k
SystonFox Posted 6 February 2014 Posted 6 February 2014 I remember Watford coming with about 1,500 7 or 8 years ago on a Tuesday night. Game ended 2-2 and they scored a last minute equaliser. Their fans celebrated like they'd won the fa cup and I respected that. Now you just bring 600 and shout Deeney in Nugents face. Utter cvnts
Dan Posted 6 February 2014 Posted 6 February 2014 Have away followings become really bad in the championship or have they always been like this? I might be wrong but 8-10 years ago im sure there were quite a few teams who would sell the 3,200 or so allocation or at least bring good figures. Now it seems there are only 4 or 5 who will bring over 1k The majority are pretty crap but I put it down to Leicester being a ground that a lot of fans have now done - as well as prices increasing nearly every year. If you've been to somewhere 3 times before, they've won 9 in a row, it's £32 - would you bother? I honestly don't think I would and I go nearly all of them. I don't rate Watford's support in the slightest (they were utterly atrocious in the play-offs vocally, home and away) but I can sympathise with their end this weekend. Sadly, the actual problem (the people who decide our pricing) will get off scot free whilst Watford's small away end gets all the stick. Seen it time and time again. Mind you after saying this - credit to our fans really. Our support is nowhere near perfect but you've got to admire the numbers we've consistently took for years to the same grounds whilst being an extremely frustrating side away from home, up until this season that is.
cornishfox83 Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Can't beat a good'my c**ks bigger than yours' contest.
harrowhorn Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 @WatfordPolFooty: Latest #watfordfc Ticket sales:- Leicester - 640 No pay on the day then?
tylesta Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Fair enough - but hopefully you can agree that we don't do too bad for a team from a small town with Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and QPR on our doorsteps. Its almost a hour away. You moan about our ticket prices yet 3 of the teams you mentioned are a lot more than ours.
tylesta Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Have to say we have the double champions of europe on our doorstep!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Fair enough - but hopefully you can agree that we don't do too bad for a team from a small town with Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and QPR on our doorsteps. There's just the thing though with London on your doorstep your attendances are worse than pathetic
tylesta Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Plus on your doorstep is kind of like qpr-chelsea, forest-notts county and dundee-dundee utd.
Alexikokopops Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 No mention of "tinpot" yet? What has the internet come to??? Scratch that, just seen it in the first reply I don't think fans of such a massive club want to be seen in our tinpot ground.
Leicester Lass Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 No pay on the day then? At a £2 premium, yes. Can't see you shifting 500 on the gate when you've only just exceeded that figure after a few weeks worth of sales.
sylofox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Fair enough - but hopefully you can agree that we don't do too bad for a team from a small town with Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and QPR on our doorsteps. And don't forget Luton.
cambridgefox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 And don't forget Luton. That's within running away distance for them.
Quorndon_Fox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Don't mind the away fans, just went to get some tickets for me and a mate last minute, cheapest they've got is £34 each (I was buying for both of us!), woman on the phone didn't even try and find anything else! Glad I paid to be a member this season, money well spent.... not!
