BrokenRecord Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Great player in his time. Anyone remember the match against Blackpool, where I think he got hit in the head and was out on the floor cold for a minute? At least that's how my mind remembers it!
Wymsey Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Wished we had him longer; think he was a better left-back than both Konchesky and Schlupp are.
Heymister2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Be in my nigel Pearson ultimate 11 Schmeichel. De laet Huth Tunchev Berner Mahrez cambiasso M. Davies Schlupp. Vardy Ulloa. Think we've been pretty poor for right backs! Hence de laet who is a decent player, but could do better!
Jimothy Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Tunchev? Slaps forehead emoji 27 appearances in 4 years, well worth a spot in any best Leicester 11!
Heymister2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Doesn't matter! The guy played football in his sleep! Who we replacing him with Wayne brown??
Jimothy Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Doesn't matter! The guy played football in his sleep! Who we replacing him with Wayne brown?? Any number or centre backs! Morgan, Was, Hobbs for starters all played under Pearson and were much better than Tunchev. I like Tunchev, I think if he hadn't been injured he'd have been a good player when we stepped up to the Championship, but the facts are he played most of his football here in League One and we've had much better centre backs in higher divisions since.
Heymister2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 M Davies only played 6-7 games in league 1 for us! But have to admit he could do things king, drinkwater could only dream of!! It doesn't matter if you've played 5 games or 100! if you can see an outstanding talent! You'd rather have them! Weso, Hobbs, Morgan could/can defend! But Tunchev could play football as well as defend!
Dan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Tunchev was very good to be fair. If it wasn't for injury he'd have been in our side years.
Danno Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Remember that Barnsley game where Tunchev played like he was a competition winner. Awful
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 mark davies isn't/wasn't/never will be fit to even look at andy king's boots through a window. laughable comment.
Dan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Mark Davies was an unreal loanee in League One. I was absolutely sick when we didn't get him permanently. Was better on loan for us than Cleverley was. Agree with most though that Tunchev & Davies simply weren't here long enough to be in an XI like that.
Heymister2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 wasn't fit enough for kings boots! The lad got a standing ovation at anfield when playing for Bolton! Like Tunchev! Outstanding but injury has taken his career away! Since we've had functional central midfielders until cambiasso came along
BoyJones Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Must admit, never really impressed with mark Davies in his time with us. He played ok, but dont forget it was in the third tier. Could have been a decent player, but has never been really tested at the top level. Been around 10 years, averages one or two goals a season, doesnt really compare to King in any aspect. If Davies was any good he would be playing for a lower half premier league side, but no manager seems interested.

Was better on loan for us than Cleverley was. Agree with most though that Tunchev & Davies simply weren't here long enough to be in an XI like that. he looked pretty tidy in about 5 games for a team that could probably have had you (no offence, you might actually be great at footy ) in central attacking midfield and still won the league by a distance. to say he was better/is better/has done better for us than andy king or danny drinkwater, is sheer lunacy. the fact he went to bolton and has done what since? nothing? kinda reinforces the point that it's an insult to even compare him to the likes of andy king.
Heymister2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 He was covered on match of the day for about a month when he went to Bolton! Not a case of him not being good enough! Just crippled by injuries! Hardly played last season and still linked with a move to the premier league with crystal palace! Easily better then King! King is functional and mr dependable! If we sign Ngamo kante! No doubt Hammond and king are better aswell
C-man Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 'functional midfielders' like DD, Kingy, Jamo. They do job but they're no Mark Davies.
AKCJ Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Remember that Barnsley game where Tunchev played like he was a competition winner. Awful Remember that Peterborough game where he looked like Maldini? Tunch was far too good for us and his quality stuck out like a sore thumb in League One. Awful is the last word anyone with a brain cell would use to describe him.
Heymister2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 We weren't go on with these players though! We need talent and Davies was an example of a player we've had that has looked outstanding and above these! Take the injuries away! You don't play away at anfield and old Trafford and get noticed you don't have something about you! It's ok saying he only played in league 1 for us! But he's shone on the biggest stage! Fingers crossed we sign talent now like kante! Because fans master bating over functional midfielders weren't see us go on a level

I'm better than Ronaldinho, but I think both Davies & Tunchev have been simply held back by injuries. Could've both done a lot better. Some players are just unlucky.
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 yep we've gone nowhere with andy king in midfield man. see you at oldham away next week seen as we're still in league one.
