I swear someone on here was saying how Harry hasn't spent much while he's been there.

What I actually said is we dont know how much Redknapp spent compared to Hughes.

Correct me if I am wrong but....

Andrew Johnson Signed by Hughes

Julio Cesar Signed by Hughes

Samba Diakite Signed by Hughes

Robert Green Signed by Hughes a couple of weeks before then signing Cesar

Stephane Mbia Signed by Hughes

Park Ji-Sung Signed by Hughes

Estaban Granero Signed by Hughes

Junior Hoilett Signed by Hughes

Jose Bosingwa Signed by Hughes

Fabio signed by Hughes

Ryan Nelsen signed by Hughes

Christopher Samba Redknapp

Loic Remy Redknapp

Yun Suk-Young Redknapp

Jermaine Jenas Redknapp

Tal Ben Haim Redknapp

Andros Townsend Redknapp

I know a lot of people on here don't like Redknapp but as this shows Hughes spent a shit load of that money.

Why have you miss Austin, Kranjar, BAE, Miaga and Phillips off that list?

All have cost serious money.

And Richard Dunne, who I doubt is on peanuts.

Whilst Hughes bought a higher quantity of players none were for a particularly substantial fee I believe whereas Redknapp spent £20 million on Samba and Remy and also a combined wage of about £200 grand a week. And that is before even saying that Tal Ben Haim and Yun Suk-Young were no where near premiership quality.

Also I imagine he left out those signings as they were for the 2013-14 season?

Was all going so smoothly under Warnock and he kept the wages relatively under control. Moronic situation.

This. He seems to have been forgotten amongst all this, I know they weren't going great in the league under him but I think there was some degree of sanity at the club while he was in charge. Although even he went for big names too much for my liking.

We'd be in the same boat if our loans hadn't been turned to equity so hardly something to be smug about, perhaps their owners will turn their debt into equity like ours have done although it could be too late for that.

Very true but we seem to have realised that throwing money around freely hasn't worked and are cutting back in terms of transfer fees and wages. It remains to be seen where QPR go from here, but given they've had several transfer windows of chucking cash around for a couple of years it doesn't seem like they are learning right now.

This is true. Cutting through all the figures in the accounts, the most fundamental measure of a financially stable football club is whether enough money is being brought in to pay the players' wages.

For the 2011/12 season, Premier League clubs ran at an average Wages / Revenue ratio of 70%

Championship clubs ran at an average Wages / Revenue ratio of 89%

The figures below show what an utterly shocking position Leicester, QPR and Forest were in for the previous two seasons. If FFP has been the driver for LCFC to get their financial position into order (and consequently develop a more stable and successful team) then it has been a blessing in disguise.

2011/12 Season

Wages

Wages / Revenue

QPR 58.5 / 64 / 91% Prem

Leicester 24.2 / 21.4 / 113% Champ

Nottm Forest 17.6 / 14.7 / 120% Champ

2012/13 Season

Leicester 23 / 19.6 / 117% Champ

QPR 78 / 60.6 / 129% Prem

Nottm Forest 21 / 14.4 / 146% Champ

Hughes still destroyed them. Cesar is reported to be on £90,000, as is Bosingwa. Then look at other players he signed that will be on loads, such as Green (remember he left a solid West Ham side to go there *cough* money *cough*),  Granero (signed from Real Madrid) and Park (signed from Manchester United).
