I went for a dirty weekend with my girlfriend there 20 odd years ago and came back engaged. Be careful Finners, be very careful.

lol

I haven't heard the phrase "dirty weekend" for a long time.

Of course, if you go for a paddle in Blackpool, it will be dirty.

That's the most worrying post in the thread, given its just me and her.

My missus, that is, not yours.

Ha! I thought it was a cheap lads weekend! Oh dear oh dear. Does you missus have very low standards? No...don't answer that question. ;)

Seriously my missus wanted to go to Blackpool over the half-term with the kids, as it was 'something to do'. I told her it was a shithole. In fact I told her it was a shithole all the way there, all the time we were there, and all the way back. Hopefully that not means we'll NEVER have to revisit that shithole ever again.

BTW the tower is closed for renovation, so if you thought that might at least distract from the rest of the dire shittiness, sorry to break the news.

Jeez it's not that bad. It has it's areas but I could probably think of many similar places in Leicester. There is also a high skank ratio but they just make me laugh.

Don't tend to venture into town these days but when I do it's usually revolution or walkabout. Stepped into Ma Kelly's once, think lamp lighters or market tavern.

Don't go to Yate's. They had drunk people clubbing with music up to 100% volume at 1pm on a Saturday. Plus it took fecking ages to get served in there.

We've got them away as the last game of the season so I'm tempted to stay over on the Friday night.

I love a night out in Blackpool!!

As much of a dump as it is, you really can't fail to have a good time there, if you come away from it unscathed you have done a good job.

Our stag had 60 on it, when final count for the coach came on Sunday we had 2 in prison and 1 in hospital and that's not a bad ratio for Blackpool.

When Tower lounge was open it was literally a 24 hour nightclub, you could walk in at 9am or 6pm and the place would still be bouncing to Born Slippy.

It's also full of scummy Scottish people.

Yep, the amazing thing is they still have a large group of people in Glasgow who come every year, it's actually still a posh holiday resort to some of them, my mate ended up bed with a big fat Jock called Jean last year. You have to wonder what their living conditions are like.

The novelty of nights out there has firmly worn off for me now I'm a "local", but my mates seem to go crackers for the place when they come up for a boozy weekend.

The Manchester pub was brilliant when we were up there in September. Loads of leicester songs, pub full on our fans and someone had a massive LCFC flag hung up.

Finnegan, if you're looking for an alternative kind of pub Blackpool isn't really that kind of town sadly. The Blue Room on Church Street is probably your best bet, they often have live bands on there too.

It's a place that knows its audience that's for sure. Always packed out with away fans on Saturdays.

Well that was horrific.

We could have gone to Bruges for less, for just two hours more in the car.

Next time I'm sticking to my guns.

Where did you end up going? Wasn't out much yesterday but town seems to have been relatively busy this weekend judging by the amount of traffic.
