dmayne7 Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 Ibrahimovich, the ideal purchase. Who's he? Never heard of him.
Dan Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 It goes against so much I believe in but seeing Zlatan play for Leicester would be just amazing

deep blue Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 I would keep GTF because I think that even at Prem level he could at least do a job coming on late to help protect a lead - a role we need to fill if we get in a relegation dogfight and need to be able to hang onto every point we can get. I suspect NP will keep more or less everyone for the start of the campaign (except those who are outside the squad such as Waghorn, Futacs, Gallagher, Danns etc) so as to not disrupt the togetherness and spirit that he has developed. That doesn' t mean they'll all have a role to play; as the season develops, those who are found to be superfluous to requirements can be farmed out. The only squad members whose ability for the Prem is in serious doubt, for me, are Hammond and Konch, but there's a case for keeping even them on for their experience and the squad spirit. I can see NP making only a small number of additions over the summer, maybe 4 or 5, but only players whose quality would stand out in our current squad. I also believe he will follow his usual way of finding additions i.e. looking for good value players who have the right character. I'm sure he will be given a big war chest but, even so, would only splash the cash if he found an irresistible reason to do so.
Finnaldo Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 Ibrahimovich, the ideal purchase. Could you imagine? The fee alone would drain all our resources, yet alone his wages
dog_4 Posted 20 March 2014 Posted 20 March 2014 well we paid Yakubu 80k a week and 250k was on the table beckham! So maybe something crazy will happen in the summer

I doubt Pearson would go for anything so insanely stupid as that. He'll get what he needs and he'll get it at the best price possible.

Unless I'm wrong, you get the feeling that he will remain sensible in his spending and won't just panic buy. It really will be fascinating to see just how much City spend on any one single player.

I agree and prefer this approach. However believe this summer will see the transfer record broken a couple of times, but in relation to wages, feel that NP won't burden us too much if we were to go straight back down... unlike a certain team from the Shepherds Bush area!!
foxfanazer Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I'd be very surprised if we break the £10m barrier on 1 player
MC Prussian Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Saw Messi in morissons this morning There's usually more than one messie at Morrison's. They need their fare share of plastic bags.
westernpark Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 If there are any players likely to be going to the world cup, then I'm sure Nigel will want to have them signed before they go off. As their values could easily double if they do anything remotely good out in Brazil.
DennisNedry Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Troy Deeney?????!!!!! I never want to see that man in a Leicester shirt.
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I never want to see that man in a Leicester shirt. Seriously... can't a bloke be given a second chance? Deeney looks like he's turned himself around, has kept fit and is enjoying being a footballer. If Pearson felt that he was worth a gamble then why not? He's a good striker. I won't accept your 'holier than thou' attitude, I'll leave it to Nige to decide who he wants at our football club. If that Deeney, he'll get my backing.
foxfanazer Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 Deeney's not good enough imo. Shane Long would do nicely
