lgfualol Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 First time I went, I was hit in the throat (below mask) and it was one that didn't burst so didn't absorb any impact. Got a lump immediately, hurt like a bastard That's why you should wear chainmail. Everytime I go to Ratby I get shot in my mask so I get paint in my mouth. Very inconvenient.
Uncle Phil Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 First time I went, I was hit in the throat (below mask) and it was one that didn't burst so didn't absorb any impact. Got a lump immediately, hurt like a bastard We went on a freezing cold day, I shot my mate on the knuckle and the same thing happened. Knuckle split open quite nastily.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I used to wear my old NBC kit. Thr charcoal lining used to soften the impact considerably
isaidno Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I went to the one at Ratby. Got shot twice on the side of the head which hurt like mad ,so spent the rest of the day hiding behind the cars and barrels
yorkie1999 Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 The world record for being hit by paintballs is 104, seen it on dirty sanchez.
Stadt Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Wear gloves and don't wear lose trainers, I think I lost a shoe in the mud at Ratby in the area with the artillery props
rico Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Went to one at Kegworth, couldnt believe how unfit i was
Gav_LCFC Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I would highly reccomend Airsoft! Been paintballing a few times, but since ive been airsoft i wouldnt go paintballing again.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 paintball, only ever went once and it was a complete nightmare. When we got there we were given our guns and noticed there was another group who had brought there own guns (we had pistols there's were more like rifles) and then came the words we will play you! They thought they were in Nam hiding in the undergrowth (camping to all COD players) and springing out as we came blundering past with our pop guns. It was an annihilation. Then to top it all we found a spot which seemed like a good place to set up an ambush (hide) when suddenly my mate came running out arms flailing wildly around his head, our ambush was right on a wasps nest, so we ran from our hiding place while being chased and stung by some very pissed off wasps, then the pain, no it wasn't the wasp stings which were bad enough, I was shot in the back whilst running away, the wasp stings disappeared long before the bruise from being shot by someone who thought he was Rambo. Ahhh the memories.
foxfanazer Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Going paintballing this Saturday in Kegworth. Prepared for the pain but I'm dreading running around for 7 hours. Any tips?
Grandad. Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Going paintballing this Saturday in Kegworth. Prepared for the pain but I'm dreading running around for 7 hours. Any tips? Take a cricket box. Take water. Prepare for it to hurt, well the first few anyway. Don't think you are Rambo. Enjoy it.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Going paintballing this Saturday in Kegworth. Prepared for the pain but I'm dreading running around for 7 hours. Any tips? Don't worry about running around for 7 hours. Much of the time is spent listening to the chump in charge telling you the rules and various bullshit stories about seeing people lose eyes/limbs/loved ones in battles over the years
Haydos Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 It doesn't hurt as much as people say. Wear something that isn't skin tight (trackies/cargo trousers+hoody) and you'll be fine.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Take a cricket box. Take water. Prepare for it to hurt, well the first few anyway. Think you are Rambo. Enjoy it. Corrected for you.
Grandad. Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Corrected for you. Haha, the first time I went I thought I was Rambo and my back was battered and bruised within a few hours. Tevez off here still holds a massive grudge with me about Paintballing, stood getting our instructions before a game, I thought the safety was on my gun, ended up shooting Shaun from a yard away right on the back of his calf.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Ouch! Ramboing is the only way to paint ball of you ask me, I hate watching people standing behind trees shooting off random pot shots. Just run and shoot. Hurts when you get hit, but that's what it's all about ain't it?
MrSpaM Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 The only advice I'd give is to HIRE THE GLOVES Never felt pain like being hit square in the knuckle with a paintball, hand swelled up like a balloon! It's pretty easily done as well.
